Why did you feel the need to dodge that question?
Are you licensed in Louisiana?
What kind of law do you practice?

You should sue the BRPD, and those cops. You sound like you’re convinced you have a slam dunk case. Would be pretty easy to find a “sympathetic” jury. Go for it. Do it for poor Koy.

Koy lied.
This was a non event and nothing “racial” happened.
The end.

hey Sammy, this thread is 40 pages of you repeating yourself

If the cops lied would you lose any empathy for them?
I judge the cops to a much higher standard than I do Koy Moore. Cops that lie, abuse their power or who are dirty make it bad for all the cops who do right. I would not have any empathy for them at all.

They didn’t put anything in their report. Which is a lie of omission. I also Doubt their version of events to their superior was 100% accurate.
Did they file a report on the incident in question?
And I believe you are just speculating on what the officers told their superiors, right. Just jumping to conclusions.[

They can’t treat every situation like an ambush though. And this would literally be the worst ambush ever if they let cops walk up to them and pull their weapons.

I would.

Sammy is an attorney?
That means Liberal Hank is now only the 2nd dumbest attorney on the site.

Lol, lots of upvotes for this nonsense.

Well why not? If you believe that it’s an unlawful infringement upon his rights then that is a serious issue. Don’t attorneys like slam dunk cases?

Maybe if you didn't suck such colossal peen as a poster, you wouldn't think 2 upvotes was a lot.

Like I said, I read through the thread. Unless I missed it, the lack of mention of that is why I asked. You’d think someone arguing as persistently as he is would drop that line much farther back.

GoneFishing never said he was a cop till I asked.

It is a repeat of the Bubba Wallace thread where he bled all 10.5 pints from his vagina.

You’re an idiot. Pulling a gun does not mean you’re going to shoot someone or commit a murder.
quote:Probably close to 1 or 2 a year at best. Most years it is probably zero as a lot of cops pull guns with no identified threat.
Do you know how many officers have been murdered because they were too slow to react and didn’t draw their weapon when they should have?

The end.
Let me first say I think the officers were within their rights to detain the young men and to question them. I also think the officer had a right to draw his weapon. And the officer probably violated police policy by cursing, which I don't care much about.
Whether this was a "racial" event is a much more nuanced discussion, and I know even suggesting that on the rant will be unpopular.
So here is the nuance. Suppose when the officers arrived it was Myles Brennan and Max Johnson by the car wearing polo shirts. Would the officer's language have been the same? Would he have pulled his gun so quickly?
I do not know the answer to that question. I do think, on average, the answer would be that white young men are treated less harshly on stops like this.
I have a son their age who is white. If he was black though, and told me he was going to a party at night at a home in an exclusive white neighborhood, it would keep me up at night. My white son who gets drunk and does something dumb is going to be less likely to get shot than my black so doing the same thing.
Nuance works both ways. Most of the violent crime in New Orleans, for example, is done by young black men. I would be afraid for my young white son if he were a policeman in New Orleans. Arresting someone who you think is armed and is not cooperating is a hard and dangerous thing to do. In New Orleans black young men will be arrested more often and there will be more opportunities for bad shootings. I worry for policemen making arrests, its dangerous business. They have to make split second decisions under stressful situations and then be judged by armchair qbs.
We need more perspective on both sides of these discussions, but that is not likely to happen. I had the young, black friend of a son of mine at the house one day and some of the experiences he relayed to me he had at school and away from school near brought me to tears.
And I do know more about these stops than the average person, having tried many homicide cases. I have seen the racism young black men experience up close and personal. I have seen brave cops put their lives on the line. And I have seen all the in between.
Its nuanced. I can see how the officer may have legitimately bee afraid for his life. I can see a black parent believing a young white man would have been treated differently than his child.
