Brody Miller on Culotta 55 minute mark
Brody Miller Twitter
These are the cliffs I typed not verbatim
-Success of the portal due to openings but further than that the staff especially Polian took charge. Personnel guys put the numbers together and did a great job.
-Myles Frazier highest graded tackle coming out of the portal.
-Clear model of what Kelly wants to do. Rebuilding the culture. Getting rid of the headache guys.
-Pin pointed their needs. LSU shooting fish in a barrel with some of these guys referring to the Arkansas/ULL transfers.
-Tre'mond Shorts was offered early and one they had a good feeling about. Offensive line last year was a disaster. Bringing in Frazier is huge.
-Frazier has all the accolades and a high character guy.
-Ali Gaye rumors are pretty confident he is expected to stay. Twitter is NIL related so looks good there.
-Deion Smith tricky situation. He is on campus but doesn't expect him to be on the LSU football team.
-Getting Baskerville back is great for the LB room. Makes you feel better about next year. Saw glimpses of Mike Jones Jr last year but that was it. Need to get Josh White healthy.
-Baskerville isn't the biggest or best but good at diagnosing plays.
-LSU defensive line next year should be nasty. Gaye & Ojulari in money years. Maason Smith one of the best in the nation. This staff is high on Bryce Langston as well.
-Roy, Smith & Wiggins the best in state defensive lineman in the state last three classes.
-Who plays center? Shorts can play all. Charles Turner can play center but he's too injured.
-Asked about targeting a TE in the portal and there's just not any in there right now. Current staff doesn't like any portal options at this time. Look for them to sign Danny Lewis in the recruiting class.
-New staff of Frank Wilson & Cortez Hankton are the duo that Kelly wants to lock down the state. Add in Brad Davis with Baton Rouge ties.
-Expectations for next year? Team has patched holes but not making the mistake two years in a row. But could see them as a 9 win team.
-Nuss/Brennan debate for the next 8 months? Can Brennan hold Nuss off the whole year? Nuss could make the jump in year 2. Brennan is QB1 but that could change quicker than later per Jordy.
-Kelly will want stability. Believes he will lean this year on Brennan but Nuss has that "it" factor.
-Next signing day is coming on February 2nd. Good position with Jacoby Mathews. LSU pushed for Harold Perkins but too much of a uphill NIL battle. Expect WR John Rutledge to possibly be in this calss.

Is he steps up our DL will be extremely deep.

I've said it before but Polian so far is the MVP of this staff with his portal evaluations. He could be Kelly's most important hire.

Will be interested to see the defensive line next season. I truly believe thats going to be the strength of the team.
I also really like the receivers we have but I just think overall the defensive line is going to be a problem for every team we face.

Thx Capt.
Any reason to think Sage Ryan is leaving or is he solid?

Please Not the “it factor” again

Regardless of whether they “like” them, we need bodies at the position that are ready to contribute. There’s TE’s out there to be had.

They were only looking at Trigg and Billingsley that I know of. Trigg is following his QB Dart and Billingsley had some issues at Bama. Which appears why LSU didn't press before he committed to Texas.

That's the whole point Pirate, there isn't anything clearly better than what we have. Why take someone mediocre when someone else could still enter the portal later.
We're going to have four TEs after Lewis, we don't need bodies we need someone actually good.

Thanks for the work in capturing these comments. Makes me feel more optimistic. IMHO I think this is Brennan’s year to shine. Nuss will develop a lot and be a great Plan B in case of injury.

Nothing on Citizen. I've seen that he's learning towards Auburn at this time. LSU is looking at another prospect out of DFW.

He must be coming back if lsu is still footing the bill for classes
Seems odd that lsu would say:

We know you’re not coming back. But we are going to get you qualified so you can transfer to a competitor.

Sage is staying put. He was apparently banged up off and on a lot last year.
