It’s time to return to more regimented system. Just spit ballin here. We are now paying college players, so… maybe they should have to stay all four years. They’re being paid to represent the school, so they have to play in the bowl game. When they’ve received money, they can’t enter the portal, because they’re scared they can’t win the starting position. Maybe put a number to how many times a player can enter the portal, paid or not. And this trying to get players one week before the season is absurd. As always, the fans have been forgotten. There’s been a lot of complaining, any suggestions for fixing the problems?

Many people believe there are no problems.

I would say making athletes employees of the school, forming a "student athlete" union, and then having them negotiate a collective bargaining agreement is probably the only way this is going to be somewhat normalized.

That’s an interesting thought. Currently it’s out of control.

You have no idea what a clusterfrick this would be. So if th players union cant reach agreement they strike and the season goes up in flames.

Every injury becomes a workers comp claim.to be litigated.

How many other school employees are limited to a maximum number of years they can be employed by the school? That would be your first clusterfrick.

and all those people are LSU fans. Outside of LSU, LSU is being considered cheaters. I don't believe it to be so, but LSU is being singled out and I hate it. I don't want LSU to be disrespected in any way, and certainly not to get some players that may or may not help out team this late in the off season. I don't think the pushback is worth the get. I hope LSU stays with the team that been working hard for the last 4 months and let's let other teams take the heat.
I just don't think these players are worth the pushback and being called cheaters.

Federal legislation empowering a body to oversee NCAA athletics, and taking the courts out of it would be the remedy. The devil is in the details there. However, with the courts involved as they currently are, it is the wild West.

I hate soccer but a system of
Relegation

Take the 138 FBS teams and make 6, 23 team conferences. Each conference has 2 divisions a top division of 12 teams and a lower division of 11 teams.

The upper division further divided into (east/west, north/south) and the respective winners play for a conference championship then playoffs. The bottom 3 from the top division are relegated and the top 3 from the lower division are promoted. I think that would provide a lot of interesting and meaningful football

Let the bowls be the money making exhibitions for cities with good winter weather like God intended.
