Tech was like Tulane before they joined the ACC. Tech wanted to come back to the SEC but The Bear really screwed them up. The Bear is the reason Tech left the conference and the reason why they are no longer in the SEC. He lied to them. Did you know that Tech had a fierce rivalry with Bama that outshines the rivalry that Bama has with Auburn today. Tech was establishing a rivalry with Auburn too. During the week of the Tech game, Auburn used to have a wreck Tech parade in the streets of downtown Auburn.

Not only should Tulane be on the t”Tigers schedule every year, it should be home and home damn the money. How special would it be to play at yulman? Very unique ! And Tulane should have been brought back to the SEC before Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. They were a founding member and times have changed. It’s doable nowadays.

"Damn the money"? In today's college football's world, that is the #1 issue facing all college football. For LSU to give up a million dollar home-gate game vs whatever piss arse check it would get from playing in that glorified high school stadium ? And make no doubt about it, tulane would screw LSU over, once again, when it came to getting tickets for LSU fans. This money issue is also what would prevent the SEC from inviting tulane back into the conference. No SEC team could make do with losing that much money in any home & home schedule arrangement.

Tech had a significant rivalry with LSU also, 1960-63 stands out. Televised game in 1962 from Atlanta where Lucille Ball -- I Love Lucy! -- debuted our then new fight song, "Hey Fightin' Tigers", in a halftime performance.
And Tech was part of the SEC Elite Fleet at the time. They weren't insta-win status like Tulane or Vandy.
