What is very obvious at this point is that it won’t be a G5 coach. If it were, we’d already be into week 2 or 3 of coach’s tenure.
Woodward isn’t acting at all like he’s in desperation mode. That gives me lots of positive vibes.
He’s waiting for someone and he’s very comfortable/confident in doing so.
If you’re really an LSU fan, you should be excited about the tea leaves at this point in time.

Jimbo and Mulkey type moves are the exception, not the rule

I just spoke with ex Rice HC and he says hes hearing Vitello and Johnson are the top 2 targets at LSU.

Texas FB thought they were getting Saban and Urban in the past, with fans like “well we’re Texas, why wouldn’t he want to come here?” before “settling” on those hires
FSU FB - same with Bob Stoops. FSU fans were convinced they were too good to hire a G5 coach when Taggart was fired
Tennessee - Gruden and every other rumored high profile coach before “settling” yet again on a G5 coach
South Carolina and Texas Baseball both “settled” on G5 coaches after fans were convinced they weren’t beneath hiring a top name
Kentucky Basketball fans thought they were getting Billy Donovan before “settling” on a G5 coach
Miami FB, USC FB...
These are all off the top of my head...and these are all teams of great historical provenance. Ya know, like LSU baseball
