Yeah! He had the right idea. Build by recruiting.

But he brought a recruiting coordinator from outside the area who had no idea how to recruit Louisiana.
Oh, he was also a mediocre position coach.

The reality is that if you fire CBK before they can get the players in the door, you set LSU back another 5 years.

LSU fans are soft and retarded. These idiots think you can rebuild a football team in a single offseason.

They think we could fire Kelly, get rid of half the team, hire a new coach on a 5 year contract, tell him which coaches to keep, and afford to pay $10-15 million to each top player in recruiting and the portal.

These are the kinds of things I keep reading here.

We're a shite worthless fricking fanbase and we deserve a shite football program to weed out the pussies.

Do you think the team improved from Year 2 to Year 3 under Saban?

Before the season, we knew there were huge holes in the team. Lack of depth on the defense esp in the backfield and line. Then we lost our best run stopper and Perkins. On offense, we have 2 running backs, one a true freshman sho has an injured foot. Our receivers have been inconsistent and the offensive line has disappointed. We are way short on depth. I’m disappointed in the season but I think we are heading in the right direction, just slowly.

This is the part people just don’t seem to get. This team did not have the depth to absorb the injuries they sustained. As much as everyone loves Weeks, he isn’t fast enough to contain QBs like Reed and Milroe. That’s where they really felt the loss of Perkins. With Guillory and Perkins, they probably win the A&M game and hold Bama’s offense more in check. Heard leaving and Adams being out for the year left LSU with no options when Dellinger went down. That completely wrecked the offense against Bama and Florida. They went from the best pass protecting team in the country to giving up 7 sacks against Florida. They almost certainly win the Florida game with Dellinger and, combined with Guillory and Perkins, that gives them a fighter’s chance against Bama. This team is a lot closer to the next level than the last few games make it appear. Injuries are a part of the game and that’s what did them in. Without them they are 8-2 or 9-1 right now controlling their SEC destiny. Kelly just hasn’t had time to rebuild roster depth. That’s the difference between contending and not.

What bothers me most about Kelly is that he sets the high expectations and then talks out the other side of his mouth when he doesn't meet them

What do you want him to say when he’s asked the question? It’s either throwing players/coaches under the bus or coach speak. Even if he thought the team wasn’t ready, he would never come out and say it. You can’t win

He hasn't even had 3 full recruiting classes yet.

From the 1 year rentals to underclassmen transferring out immediately he's basically had to rebuild every year.

It’s not JUST the safeties. Cornerbacks don’t even think about tackling anybody. They just push the runner and hope he falls I guess. Let’s watch tonight’s game and keep track of tackles made by the DBs. And how many “pushes” they use. Safeties AND Corners.

Look at the roster. We are missing Soph

That is directly Brian Kelly’s fault. His 2023 class sucks.

Interesting. I wish there was a way to get talented experienced players to fill gaps in the roster.
