This. I knew in his press conference last year when he said Sage Ryan was moving back to corner before the USC game and would be starting that we were fricked yet again.

Man have we tried davis at left guard? I know not OL spots are interchangeable but if he's getting beat with quickness maybe he's better than Chester at guard, Bradford was a true guard playing right tackle last year, Tho i know Davis is physically built more like a tackle we have to be getting desperate. This OL has me really worried with Nuss's skill set.

Found out yesterday that even though Brian Kelly professes his love for coke. They put Gatorade in all the Powerade containers at LSU. They also use Muscle Milk instead of core power

I hope Mubenga has improved his game from last year.

Mubenga doesn't have a sec frame or the muscle to compete at this level. I don't in anyway see it.

Tidbit takeaway for me. CBK actually discussed in some detail how they are preparing Special Teams.

ST's has barley been an afterthought during the rebuild. Now CBK is talking about playmakers & training scheme using ST's as a weapon.

my.02 This to me indicates LSU has a solid roster/depth resembling a complete team. Ready to start "consistently" competing.

I'm not sure how this translates in W/L's but LSU's roster/depth is trending in the right direction.

Be at peace fellow Tiger OLine jedi fans. We have a solid center with a ton of experience. Top that off with a special forces level left tackle. We'll be good.
May not beat Clemson, but the force is with us.

It’s not a flex. There are posters on this board that legitimately think it’s absurd for anyone to have questions about that position group.

I’m sure you can find a poster or two who think the moon is made of cheese, but the oline is almost universally thought to be questionable.

Chester needs to be processed and sent to a D2 school. He is terrible.
I've stated this multiple times on here. He was NOT offered a scholarship to Georgia. (His home State) Dude needs to be playing at Georgia State or Georgia Southern and the LSU OL Coach that recruited him should be at a SWAC or HBCU school. Brad "Sylvester" Davis is in WAY OVER HEAD at LSU/SEC........

Sloan isn’t high level SEC caliber and if you don’t believe me, go look at his resume.

CBK’s OC is like Saban’s DC; as long as he’s competent and hard working it’s fine.

You usually have some interesting takes but I don't get what you're saying here. Who's flipping out because you consider the OL a question mark. There is literally never consensus on this board about anything, but I think every single post for the last 6 months, as it relates to this offensive line, is that this team will go as far as the offensive line takes it. Literally pick any other position group. Tight ends, running backs, defensive line, linebackers, dbs, wideouts, not one other position group is as uncertain as the offensive line. The offensive line was not great last year, and most of these guys were the backups. Many of them have gotten a year older and stronger and we brought in some talent from the transfer portal, but the OL is literally the consensus biggest question mark on this team. Not sure there's any way you can make this out to be a hot take or that you are the tip of the spear on this particular topic.

Can't disagree with this. He has proven that he is not SEC material on multiple occasions. Remember when we were told he was good at run blocking? Also, remember when he was given an assignment to hit the guy in front of him and failed miserably?

Why are we wasting a roster spot on him? He needs to be processed ASAP.

He can't build a resume if nobody gives him a chance. Presumably the head coach must have seen something he liked.

Who is our backup Center?

Chester has been running with the 2s. Looks like they decided to move Echols to Guard full time, which may be for the best if he’s in line to start. I think the freshman Bordelon is projected as the 3rd Center.

You are a fricking idiot.

Chester hasn’t panned out. We all know that. A lot of 4 star Offensive Linemen don’t.

That said, this shite about UGA not recruiting him is a joke. Semjase is a casual who doesn’t know shite about football, much less the OL that he blabbers about endlessly.

Whatever UGA’s reasons for passing were, Chester was still ranked as the top IOL in his class by 247 and in the top 8 by On3. He was a top 150 (54 according to 247) national recruit and a high 4 star. You don’t pass on a guy with those kinds of ratings out of a good football state just because UGA was good on Centers that year.

We were short on OL for BK’s first 3 seasons since Orgeron allowed the talent level to slip there, so the staff has been stockpiling players for the last 3 years. Chester fit the mold of what they were looking for, so acting like he wasn’t a good enough recruit as highly as he was rated out of HS is just idiotic. He just didn’t work out. This is why you take multiple OL recruits every season- because it’s always going to be hit and miss there outside of guys like Will Campbell.

As much opportunity as Chester has had here, I will be surprised if he’s around next season. He had his shot and guys are beating him out. Next man up.

I think he was running with the 2s at the time because Chester was still taking reps at LG with the 1s. Kelly mentioned he likes how physical he is for a true freshman.
