None of you have ever had to transition a culture. There is a process you go through in evaluating what needs to happen and how it needs to happen. For example, look at what was left and who was threatening to leave or on the fringe of decommitting. This entire program was a shite show. Where were the most issues? What were the players saying when he was hired? If you look at his defensive coordinator hire, he hired a guy that led UK defense into a position of excellence for them. Or was it Mark Stoops mostly doing the lifting? The guy was recommended by Tyrann Mathieu as a great hire for LSU because of how intelligent he was in backer play. Pretty big endorsement. Sometimes you miss in hires. It happens.
As far as Will Campbell, he said himself that he had to weigh his options. Emery Jones was here in BR and people didn’t really know he was going to be a tackle or capable of starting year 1. That was a Kelly decision to start those freshmen. It was a roll of the dice for the future.
Ed O had nothing to do with this Oline chemistry, composition or play outside of Brad Davis getting to stay on. I believe it was year 1 for Brad at LSU and he was there because of wanting to come home and be close to his aging parents. Plus Brad had proven his capabilities at Arky under a great Oline coach as a great coach and recruiter. It was a no brained to keep him.
Kelly has ALWAYS had good to great Olines. This one is on par with one he had at ND per him from his recent press conference.

I’m not an Ed orgeron fan by any means, I was just objectively stating what each coach has done for lsu program. CEO won lottery (no pun intended) w Burrow, but he still won. Kelly so far hasn’t won shite, except the hearts of the rotary and key clubs.
Ok. Nice job coming to your senses and getting your previous post revised or deleted
As for O, you did forget the part about him dismantling everything he accomplished and more on his way out, breaking a 20+ year bowl and winning season streak. That’s not notable, or anything.
Kelly did manage to win the West while starting the clean-up up O’s gigantic, unnecessary, lazy-arse frick up of a mess in 2022.

Munch, Just a small correction….
BK won the SEC West Championship in year one. But I agree with your point & wish that Stoic Poser, Pirate King & other BK haters would post less.

I’m not white knighting for O. He was awful his last two years. But I think it’s weird to brag about coaching hires when BK is at like a 50% hit rate so far and it’s part of the reason we weren’t in the playoff last year.

As far as offense goes, there hasn't been much to criticize.
Defensively, there has been a lot. But I'm not sure anyone could have seen how terrible Matt House would have been in his return to CFB. Everyone was excited when that hire was announced.
It appears that he is well on his way to fixing that though.

To be fair, he essentially inherited the two best players.
Best player of that class was Perkins.
Top 6 in order was
Perkins
Q. Wiggins
Campbell
W. Howard
Jones
L. Welch
Let’s not act like BK & his staff didn’t have to re-recruit the commits LSU already had. BK & Brad Davis definitely deserve all the credit for developing these guys to the best unit in the country

He deserves all the credit in the world. When the offense wasn't very good, in Daniels first year as a starter, the defense won us games. The drop off from one year to the next was absolutely wild. We win close games. That's coaching. Attention to detail, and situational awareness.
As far as Oline growth you hear in all the press conferences that they are giving the young guys a lot of reps. Building depth for the next few years. Every year at ND he rolled out some good looking NFL olines. We will continue to do the same.

Yes, that is exactly why I said 50% hit rate.

I don’t either, but good news for LSU, I’m not getting paid $100 million to figure it out. A bad hire is a bad hire, doesn’t matter how excited the fans or media was.

Bro, this has been debunked so many times. Kelly hits more than he misses on hires and it's not close.
Let's run down the list.
Hits;
Wilson-obvious hit
Brad Davis-obvious hit
Sloan-obvious hit
Hankton-obvious hit
Bo Davis-obvious hit
Baker-clear hit with skins on the wall
Raymond-was unsure at first but has clearly become a hit
To be determined;
Olsen-just young but early returns are good
Nagle-Early but a lot to like there too
Not really fair to judge;
Jancek-Forced to coach out of position.
Lindsey-Health issues
Misses;
House-good on paper hire that didn't work out
Steeples-clear miss
Cooks-clear miss.
Pretty good chance this list falls 9/12 in favor of hits by the time we get more info on nagle and Olsen.

Helped, sure. But every major program in the country was after those guys, and I dare say O would not have landed both...

Collins would have been if it weren't for the legal bs right before the draft

100%. People act like it was easy holding that class together when Kelly arrived. It's like they think people weren't kicking down Perk, Will & Emery's door to get them to decommit.

Just skipped over Polian huh? Sloan and Hankton are both unproven as coordinators.
These guys haven't even coached a game yet.

It’s weird that we can’t acknowledge that Campbell, Jones, and Dellinger were here for O and the previous staff. Give props to BK for keeping them. But let’s not rewrite history just because it sounds nice

PS….if he fricks around and let’s USC beat us for the 5th straight opening game loss, he best be made of Tungsten bc the world will frickn melt!!!!
Your Dad tried his best at LSU. No need to hate on his replacement.

Polian is a bit hard to measure. He flopped as a ST coach but did add a ton of value while he was here in other areas. But to your point, go ahead and put him on the “Miss” line. Even if you do, Kelly is still hitting on 70% of the LSU hires and we haven’t even looked at his previous hires either.
We’ve seen Raymond and Baker coach in the SEC and at LSU. We know what they are.
I put Nagle and Olsen on the too early to tell list for a reason.

3 losses will be a joke for this team. If he loses 3 or more his seat better be warm
We could theoretically make the playoffs and end up with 3 losses, 10-2 in season and lose 1 playoff game. Or go 9-3 during the season and win the 10th in the bowl game. Stating that we should make his seat warm after, in your statement, losing 3 games this year likely being his 3rd straight 10 win season on the warm seat is asinine. 4 losses or more this season would call for a lukewarm seat and wait to see in 25 how we do before any real hot seat talk is initiated.
We play 5 ranked teams with 2 potential trap games @ Arkansas and @ Florida plus @ A&M so 3 losses is possible even if we beat USC.
