Les Miles underachieved with the talent he had but he overachieved based upon his Coaching ability. He might be the single worst clock-management Coach of all-time. The fact it didn't bite him in the arse more than it did is a miracle.
Coach O overachieved based upon his Coaching ability but he was at least smart enough in 2018 and 2019 to not get in the way of the team. But he flamed out like he was always going to.
Brian Kelly despite what anyone thinks overachieved in year 1 but has underachieved every year after. A lot of that is due to his decisions. Now he got a pass in 2023 for the defense because of the roster he inherited but again its still been a disappointment.
I refuse to rank them. i will rank their teams but not them as Coaches because even though one had more wins/accomplishments he was a horrendous head Coach.

Keep an eye on Arkansas. Coach O was Steve Jones' (Dallas Cowboys president and Jerry's son) when he played for Arkansas.

Les was definitely a better game day coach than Orgeron…. minus a few clock management issues in a couple of games.Orgeron knew to let his coaches run their systems and stayed out of their way.. Ed was a better recruiter than less… Short term. Les did not know what to do with a recruit when he did get them. How many dual threat quarterbacks came to LSU only to fade to black and nothingness because he refused to let them run. Les shite the bed in 2011… That’s just unforgivable in my book. Ed coached the best team in the history of college football. I’m gonna give the edge to the shrimp boat captain. Brian Kelly is a clown… he’s never gonna accomplish anything other than get a sizable severance check when he gets cut loose next year.

Should have been 10-2 regular season record since they beat A&M like 5 times in one game. Would have had the Tigers in a prime time bowl

Kelly - had a Heisman guy, currently averages an ok defense, struggle with offensive consistency
Miles- great defenses, offensively predictable, struggle to re-invent said offense.
Orgeron- GOAT Offense in 2019, defensively struggled with consistency

Brian Kelly is the 2nd worst choice after Les Miles. I never wanted either to be at LSU. NEITHER are coaches who can coach in SEC. Les Miles won a championship with Saban's recruits and did nothing from that point on. If the boosters were not arrogant and upset with Saban for leaving, they would have allowed him to come back. But thinking they had something in Les Miles, they screwed that pooch! ???????
Brian Kelly hadn't won the Championship with Notre Dame, and they pick and choose who they play. Then we pay him all this money, with no clause to fire him, to run this SEC gauntlet! He gets outcoached every game!
Coach O was fiery in the season they won the Championship. Then he tried to change for the boosters and become one of those company boys to keep his job. Lost it anyways. Should have stayed the fiery, hardcore, slobbering when you speak, country boy he is and kept winning. They wouldn't have fired him. They didn't want him and got rid of him as soon as they could.

Ya gotta win something to put in the trophy case before you're best in that group.

I rank coaches on how much strange they get. Does Kelly get any puss at all?
1. Ed O
2. Les "The Mentor" Miles
3. Celi(bate) Kelly

I loved Les miles. He was a character and a true alpha dog.
Coach o was a cool guy but his voice always freaked me out
BK I never liked that guy, I never trusted him
