Year 1: SEC West Title
Year 2: Heisman winner

My prediction:

Year 3: Playoff Appearance
Year 4: Playoff Appearance-maybe make the semi’s
Year 5: National Championship

Thank O and his midlife crisis for leaving the program in the worst shape it’s been since the 90s. BK took over a shite show and came here off the long term potential. If O was even half competent, BK would be much further along in this rebuild.

He overachieved in year one, which caused higher expectations in year 2. In year 2, the team as a whole underachieved, but that was because of higher expectations placed because of the success in year 1. Don't forget that there were people questioning whether or not we would make a bowl in year 1. Hell, people have been comparing him to Freeman at the program Kelly built and Napier and Riley and the only one that's close to him is Freeman, and Kelly left him a playoff team.

Did he have more talent in those losses? Why do you expect Kelly to beat team with more talent when even Saban struggles to beat teams with even talent?
He was favored in 3 of those 6 losses; and overall favored in 4 of the 7 total losses IIRC

in summary (assuming we win the bowl game), 2 back-to-back 10-win seasons... winning the SEC West & beating Bama, producing a Heisman QB, that's pretty fantastic.

However, are there areas that need to improve? Yes.

all eyes will be on what BK does with Matt House and the defense. that HAS to improve. it's up to BK to fix it.

recruiting needs to improve in order to get to the "standard" that BK has stated publicly "to compete for and win national championships".

it will be up to BK to improve the defense and recruiting, but he's "ahead of schedule" IMO.

1. Assume LSU beats Wisconsin .
2 year record > 20-7 ( .740)
2 year SEC record > 12-4 (.750)
Played in SEC championship game
(1-1) against Alabama
(0-1) against Georgia
(1-1) against A&M
(1-0) against Missouri

More concerned about recruiting and transfer Portal going into 2024/2025 .

19-7 and an SEC West Title, after being given a roster with 39 scholarship players
Looks like he did better with those 39 player Coach O left him than he did with his own recruits...Hmmmm makes a fella wonder...was it really that bad that he started with Coach O's 39 players some of those guys are some of the best on the team

So in year 2 of a complete rebuild and cultural overhaul, down to 37 scholarship players on the roster

This is pretty annoying. What does that have to do with today? Is he not allowed to recruit hs players?

When does this excuse expire? Because players are leaving this offseason. Players are transferring and running out of eligibility.

In the past, how many losses have Kelly teams averaged per year?

I think whatever that answer is...there is your "indicator" and what future performances you can expect.

Since you seem new to critical thinking, let me walk you through this.

All things between Notre Dame and LSU being equal, then you could possibly make a case for why the transitive properties involved would apply.

However, he came to LSU because LSU has access across the board to better athletes closer to home.

Kelly and staff may claim the #1 recruiting class in the country, and only have to get on a plane to go see the #1 overall prospect.

Aside from him, who's worth a few plane rides, most of this class will be from withing a 300 mile radius of Baton Rouge.

So, consider his past production the floor. The new access he has to the quality and quantity of athletes will determine his ceiling.

When it stops having a profound effect on the team as a whole, something any reasonable person can conclude on their own.

When are you gonna stop being a dipshit who says stupid things ?

ChatGPT summary of the text wall:

The text argues that Kelly has done a remarkable rebuild and cultural overhaul of the program, despite having limited resources and high expectations.

The text praises Kelly’s offensive staff and the Heisman-winning offense, while acknowledging the defense has struggled, but with valid reasons.

The text expresses confidence that Kelly will address the problems and turn the weakness into a strength, based on his past performance and caliber.

he’s 3-6 vs ranked teams in his 2 years

but i think the lowest ranked team we’ve lost to is 11th

it’s not like he gets a lot of games vs teams 15-25.

I appreciate your use of punctuation and paragraphs.

CBK came in with many challenges. It's going to take time and look what's happened in 2 short years. I'm going to relax and enjoy the ride as much as possible even though that defense was hard to watch.

Sometimes I just get this feeling that it’s not worth my time or energy to read a really long post and I just got that feeling just now.

He does deserve a chance, but.... I am afraid that we might have a coach who is 9-3 every year. Hope I'm wrong, cuz he does alot of things right, but the defense actually got worse over the season this year. If the excuse is that you have young players, then you would think that young players would gradually get better over the course of the season.
Next year should tell us alot about where the program is going.
