Great arm . Smart kid . Too slow on his feet and not durable enough . Has a great arm , outside of that , not enough athleticism for the SEC , which is why he kept getting hurt .

Anyone who wants to go—-there is the door.
LSU is the winningest program in the SEC from 2000-2019. There is nothing that indicates the tradition will change. Three consecutive coaches have won NCs within their first 4 years (two in the first 3 years). Two played for the SEC title witching their first 2 years. Any kid that doesn’t want to be part of this tradition can go.
BTW—Walker Howard will be enrolled as a student at LSU in January 2022 unless we hire a coach that plans to run the triple option.

Arik Gilbert??!!!
"Generally"
And he's a special head-case. Not sure how you can compare him and Myles Brennan.

Sad to see him go but understandable. I'll bet he will be a real asset where ever he ends up. Good person and wish him the best.

Best of luck to him and the Cajuns would be a great move. Guy was just snakebit here for whatever reason. Right move to go where you know you’ll play.

I was not comparing anything. I was simply responding to the false claim that starters don't go to the transfer portal.
How fast LSU Fans forget McLendon, Farrell, Vincent and Arik were all starters.

Brennan was loyal to the program and was treated horribly by posters on here. The loudest people on here have the least class.

"LSU QB Myles Brennan set to hit the transfer portal"
At this point in his career, my advice to this young man would be to get himself an MBA in preparation for running his family’s restaurant business. He is not going to go pro and there is no point in fricking his health up any further.

Maybe Tulane has an opening for him next season.
Pratt is a freshman and averaging right at 200YPG for the year.

if he's not healthy enuf to play in the SEC how the heck can he be counted on playing with the big boys?

He’s a tiger for life and I wish him well

Myles has it figured out.
Transfer to a passing school and put up a billion passing yards. Get drafted in the 6th or 7th round. Bounce around with 5 teams as a life long back up QB in the NFL for 10 years. Make 30 mil. Fish all off season long. Then start an off shore fishing empire. Live happy ever after.

By my count he has two.
He only has one year left.

TK Mclendon was not a starter, Farrell and Vincent never transferred.

This surprises me. I expected him to win the starting job next year. I think he was clearly the best we had overall when he was healthy.

Agree with LaTexSaint . Not built for the SEC !!

They went into the portal, genius. So did Moore.
Posted on 11/1/21 at 5:56 pm to ColeLSU
If true, good luck to him He made every effort to become the starter at LSU. I wish him the best.

Vincent “opted out to prepare for the NFL draft.” Farrell opted out as well when his grandmother got hospitalized with COVID, and said all along he intended to return to LSU. But he ultimately opted back in and played 10 games last year.
Neither of them ever entered the transfer portal. Genius.

Also not a starter.
