Why would any head coach throw his starting qb under the bus like this?

This is bad and you should feel bad.

Could have played in several games last year and gotten some mop up time without losing his redshirt.
OP probably right - not seeing the field again this year barring an injury to Burrow.
Then next year, it will be look at all that great competition that is so close.
Brennan has the patience of a saint.

Definitely will.

I think Joe Brady will want to get him actual passing experience in this offense in mop up time too. Won't just be handing it off. That will be his QB in 2020 and that guy isn't stupid.

While I think he should get some pt. We have yet to see Orgeron actually do that with the back up qbs.

Brennan is a gunslinger, if he can get the mental aspect down and continue gaining good weight, I think he can be a top 2 round type talent.

It’s easy to sing praises watching kids in practice. We will see how well these improvements transition to game day.

Well it’s been documented Brennan was hurt most of last season.......Main reason O and E didn’t run Burrow more........

But carry on. It’s like some on here don’t actually follow the program....just follow false narratives

Brennan is a RS Soph and if he does continue to develop physically and pick up the mental aspects of the game we should be in good shape for 2020-21. Brennan has a pretty quick release and good velocity. He's tailor made for the quick passing game and should benefit from being able to sit behind Burrow another season and study Brady's RPO.
Brennan and Burrow are better QB's than they were last year. I think Brennan puts up a serious challenge for the starting job this Summer and can win it if Burrow stumbles.
