Plus I think Brennan realizes that physically he NEEDS to put on some good weight to play at LSU.

Sure Brennan has great arm talent but he will get snapped in half at his current weight. If Brennan can’t put on 20# of good weight then he needs to start looking elsewhere too imo.

This is a perfect situation for Brennan. Learn from Burrow, gain the needed weight and don’t be thrown into a situation too soon...like we have had to do with so many QB’s here. His family situation is ideal as well, the Brennan’s are not hurting for $, he isn’t in a rush. I like it

exactly. has been that way all along for O.

Miles liked the dual threat QB but wouldn't let him dual threat - wanted him to be a pocket passer. blows my mind.

dual threats are generally sandlot football players. in college they can be very good and win championships, with the right team. Jamarcus Russell was one of the best sandlot qb's ever. Hurts has a lot of skills but can't find the downfield open receiver often enough when scrambling.

Narcisse I think saw Burrow maybe being here two years. Brennan will (eventually) take over for Burrow.

How bad was Narcisse as a QB when it's already known Brennan would take over after Burrow leaves?

Maybe the fact that Narcisse basically hasnt played any meaningful snaps in 3 years played into his decision.

He could just be itching to get on the field and play football again. I totally get that if that was part of his decision making process.

Russell had 79 yards rushing and 4 TDs in his 3 years at LSU.

I'm betting Burrow exceeds that this year. Russell was mobile, but he was a pocket passer.

Flynn and Mauck were much more of a dual threat QB than Russell

Jamarcus was far from a dual threat
And did you just compare him to jalen Hurts?

JR is the best passing Qb LSU has ever had and Hurts can barely complete a pass over 15 yds

Jamarcus was totally a dual threat.

He'd either (a) throw the ball on time 1000 mph or (b) wait until defenders were hanging all over him before throwing the ball 1000 mph.

I'm surprised Moffit hasn't tied him to a chair and force fed him lard and gallons of whole milk.

I’m sure Moffitt has been on it but some people just have a hard time gaining weight. He has been in the program 2 summers and he just still looks like a HS kid.

Burrow was originally listed as a DT QB coming out of HS:
LINK
In 2 years of HS he had over 1400 yards rushing and 22 TDs. He averaged 5.4 ypc. Passing: 71%/6900 yds/94TDs

By comparison Narcisse had 2000 yds in 2 years and 30 TDs. He averaged 5.7 ypc. Passing: 57%/5100 yds/58TDs

but he will get snapped in half at his current weight

I have seen this said a lot on this board and don't really understand the reasoning for this comment.

If you trot a fat out-of-shape guy onto a college football field is he guaranteed not to get hurt because he weighs a lot? Is a thin in-shape guy automatically going to be a Mr Potato Head that has to have his limbs reattached every time someone touches him?

How many times is a QB hit during a game?

How come nobody says Greedy Williams will be snapped in half, broken or injured every play? Greedy is 2 inches shorter and weighs one pound more (and that is going by LSU's reported weights, I have seen where Brennan said he is now 194). Is everyone concerned with Justin Jefferson being snapped in half at 185 pounds? Is QB a more physical position than cornerback or wide receiver?

I can see where a lighter guy would be easier to tackle but I don't see the huge detriment to his well being because he weighs less. I would think a large mass hitting another large mass would cause more change in momentum and energy than a large mass hitting a smaller mass. I am no scientist though.

Great, but why does he have to learn from another player. If he had had a coach for the last 1.5 years, he or one of the transfers should have been ready to step in.

Brennan looks like a a HS kid physically.
Burrow looks like a grown man.
Greedy looks like a grown man.

Brennan currently does not pass the physical eye test.

As far as why I’m not concerned with Greedy getting snapped in half is bc on every play someone is NOT trying to do that.

Hello MacFly! Burrow is a DT. Peter Parrish is a DT. They are going after Tua’s brother who’s at DT. So to say they are leaning toward pockets passers is an asinine statement. Especially if we are truly running RPO’s.

Greedy is getting tackled by 280 plus pound lineman and he is delivering blows not receiving them.

Why does Dave Aranda visit a bunch of coaches all the time?

"When Aranda was coming up at Cal Lutheran he would go visit Coyle at Fresno State. He would learn quarter's coverage and SAM (strong safety) blitzes. When at Hawaii Dave would visit him with the Cincinnati Bengals"

When he was at Cal Lutheran he used to go and talk to Eaux who was at USC?

"LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda spotted at Saints camp, picking up ideas"

Why would Oregon coaches come to LSU?
"Oregon Ducks football coaches visiting LSU, Clemson to 'help our football team become a little better'"

Whey would someone do that?

I disagree. It's true that Burrow and the current commit are dual threat. But it is also very well known that Slinger prefers pocket passers - he greatly preferred Brennan to Narcisse. The recruit Parrish may have wheels but he is also very accurate. If Parrish were three inches taller, he would be a 5 star/Elite 11 guy.
