Max had two TDs, Myles had a nice throw on a trick play

Unless Brennan had 2 more TDs in the locker room, it is Max’s job right now unless he bombs in the fall.

Myles can’t avoid the rush and the oline can’t keep a clean pocket.

QB1 has to be Max

Against the second team defense. He was 4/10 against the starters whereas Brennan was 11/15.

This game doesn’t mean a whole lot, but just pointing that out for clarity

Honestly it was a 50-50 ball. 2 of Max’s TDs were beautifully placed.

I thought early on it was Brennan for me but i'm not sure now. The format makes it tough but I still see MJ as the one with the most intangibles.

I think young Nuss has the most upside but thankfully he can wait a yr or two and develop.

I know some people want to only look at the final stats graphic that ESPN threw up there and make their decision, but I think there's a lot more to it than that.

Brennan and Johnson looked very close. I think Brennan looked a little more "field aware" than all the others. Johnson wasn't far behind. He is a little better climbing the pocket than Brennan. Remember, there is no blitzing in the spring game, so it's kind of tough to compare them on pocket presence in this one.

Nuss looked very promising. Still some freshman mistakes, but he sure seems to have that IT factor.

Finley, you can see all the physical tools, and when it comes together, he looks like the best pure QB, but the mistakes are still too high for the guy who actually got the most starts last year.

Right now, if I had to project, I'd say Brennan is the day 1 starter with Johnson right behind. Finley would be the #3 if he stays, and Nuss would redshirt.

Injuries are still a very real risk every season, so there's a path for every one of these guys, and it's encouraging to see how much talent we have at the position overall. It's easily the deepest QB room I can ever remember LSU having.

For the sake of the depth chart this is what will happen. I thought Johnson looked the best, makes good decisions and don't try to force the ball if the play isn't there. Look at it this way, if you don't make brennan the starter then he most likely transfers. Max will be the starter then and Finley #2 ...if he don't transfer as well. So IMO you make Brennan the starter and let his play make him not the starter(if that even happens) and keep at least 3 QBs on roster

I expected Myles to separate himself today. He didn't. That was a big surprise to me.

Right bc this spring game was the JUDGEMENT DAY for Myles Brennan who was clearly on pace for huge numbers last year after waiting his turn and no evidence to say he will not pick right back up this season as a 5th year senior. How many national titles has LSU won with a 5th year senior vs a sophomore? I’m not knocking max at all, I don’t think there’s much of a drop off at all if any but for all the ****MORONS*** who think Myles sucks and this game proves Max is the starter are quite simply ***MORONS*** and will shut the hell up (again) once Brennan starts lighting up defenses (again) with hopefully what appears to be a coherent competitive defense backing him up this year.

For so many people who have said they would "support whoever starts" they seem to be really stretching for a reason to keep Myles first. The eye test overwhelmingly favors Max.

I don't think there will be many people upset if Myles starts. I do, however, think there will be a large amount of butthurt if Max starts.

One was wide arse open. Both were a senior being covered by a true freshman. There's a legit battle for the starting spot. Its just not a 4 man race anymore. Its 2
