Unfortunately I think you are right. Ultimately I think he is misguided in not leveraging LSU's greatest weapon (LA WRs) but I hope I'm wrong.
Les Miles wasted a decade of Louisiana WR talent within a stupid cluster frick offense with a poor passing QB. One of the most frustrating things ever was seeing LSU WR talent and doing nothing with it.
Then you watch Texas Tech later in the day with half the talent throw for 400+ yards.

The confounding thing is that there have been pockets of creative playcalling. What kind of shite did BK run at Cincy? Certainly he couldn’t get away with just fundamentals football at that program. I seem to remember some high scoring teams.

At least we aren’t chasing that “Joe Brady offense”.

So we're all just imagining that CBK is our HC for tonight's game?

idea of having 4 or 5 five top-shelf WRs on a team at one time is new to him.

BK wasn't LSU coach then, and hasn't seen 4 "elite" WRs here in 2 years, much less in same season.

quote:Respectfully do you think CBK's philosophy changes with different quarterbacks? The reason I ask is because the offense looks totally different with JD vs how it looks with Nuss.
However, the focus needs to be not on JD-GN, but on CBK. He had options and this is the course he set. Plain and simple, we run the offense he wants with the QB he wants because that's his football philosophy. Will it win a natty? TBD.

let’s just be clear while having thai conversation.
we don’t have 3 WRs as good as we did in 2019.
Maybe 1 could maybe compete with Marshall.
we don’t have a QB as good as Burrow. Nuss may be better than Daniels but he isn’t Joe
we don’t have a RB as good as CEH

Good question. IMO, his base philosophy doesn't change.
That's not to say he doesn't have an emergency room, e.g., 2-minute offense, that's gonna look a lot different than a first possession offense. Or that certain personnel availability or game context may dictate what different plays o be called.

Brian Kelly’s history says he is not scared to change a quarterback on the fly if he thinks it gives him a competitive advantage. So far he does not see it that way.

CBK 'inherited' a pretty-good setup at QB here
Nuss is here with potential and very few reps on tape, many not good
Brennan never put in any work
Walker Howard is third string at Ole Miss
This is your pretty good room

Disagree with this from a physical perspective. The WR development isn’t there. They have more talent at TE and WR. Thomas is a bigger and more physical Marshall. Hilton could be chase and Nabers is a lot like Jefferson. Then there is Markway, pimpton, Anderson, Lacey, etc. there was no summer of 10000 catches or opening and closing catching or use of the special glasses catching that we saw with 2019.
Diggs, Jackson, Williams and Cain are all equally talented to Clyde. Then Daniels is a better runner than Joe. There is the difference when looking at running the ball. In 2019, the pass set up the run. The offensive identity of the team is still in development.
They need a ball controlled offense to use the new rule and protect this defense due to the lack of pass rush and weak defensive backfield.

He has said he needs a few years to rebuild but refuses to play the guy who is obviously ready and will be around while he rebuilds.
My opinion is he is in over his head and will be fired before year 5-6. BK was the safe hire and it will come back to bite LSU in the arse.

Did you even read? Look at the physical attributes. LSU has track star speed and size with Pimpton and Thomas plus better TEs with size and speed. Those are the attributes of a Very good to great WR/TE room.
There is no Joe that’s the only difference besides the obvious lack of development.

You have a good point . One can only wonder if JD was not given the job last season how things might have been different .

Brennan (I know he had to recruit him out of the portal),
Pretty sure MB had ZERO offers from the portal so he decided to come back and CBK said ok.
