LSU needs Sampson to play to his capabilities to get over the hump in close games.

He’s been here 2 1/2 years. What makes you think he’s capable of doing that?

Because he played to his capabilities in the last game against UGA. I'm not saying he needs to be Superman, but he basically averaged 12 ppg last year and shot well (especially the last 10 games or so). They need him to average what he did last year and not score 3 points for the game. If he would have done that today, LSU likely wins.

It’s amazing we were even in the game with how poorly these two and Waters played today. They need to step up and get tougher in order to win conference games this year.

Hornsby and Blakney would have been great forthis team. I could see Hornsby carrying them with leadership.

I really dislike people who just look at fantasy points to judge a basketball player.

Epps played 11 minutes and got 3 shots. You have to feed a forward the ball. Our 2 "point guards" went 7 for 23.

hey mmcgrath...............you dislike people who look at fantasy points???

Let me give you a little lesson on basketball. Our team needs Sampson and Epps to produce more consistently at both ends of the basketball court. It is not rocket science. Please don't get it twisted. When these two combine for 5 total points chances are we will lose most of those games. Glad to help you with that lesson today since you obviously don't know shite about basketball.

Sampson has negative b-ball IQ. We were a better team when he was hurt. Sad but true.

Never understood the Sampson & Epps hype...They're just not players you can count on.

They don't run one play for Sampson. LSU has two guards that dribble the cuffs off the ball. Sampson is not one of Will Wade's recruit and is suffering with the change.

After the Georgia game I thought Sampson had turned the corner post injury. But he was pretty ineffective yesterday and WW saw that and sat him a good bit. Disappointing.

Reath isn't one of Wade's recruits and they ran the entire offense through him yesterday. In fact, he's flourished this season. When Sampson starts that means 4 of the 5 starters aren't "Wade's players".

I think Sampson just can't find his fit in whatever LSU is trying to run on offense. Pretty much everything comes off the high ball screen for Waters (and sometimes Mays). Sampson's game really isn't to be a floater along the 3 point line. His game is really more of one to use his athleticism to attack the basket and right now there isn't great spacing allowing him to do so. If he were a better 3 point shooter he could really create some havoc on offense. Right now he's just in a bit of no-man's land.

Exactly Alt. I can absolutely nitpick some things WW did, but he did the right think in exploiting Vandy's weakness in pounding the ball to Reath all day....that worked out o.k didn't it?

The time missed is definitely part of that. He was fitting in pretty nicely before the injury.

Duop played well versus Vandy, who has no post play.

Exactly, thus WW smartly exploited that.

Wade needs to split the two bigs up. Our offense was much better with the smaller lineup early in the season, it allowed more space under the three point line and created more lanes for Waters to attack through. Sampson isn’t getting the touches or minutes he needs to be a big producer consistently. Maybe we should split he and Mays up too there seems to be a rift and dislike between those two players. If we commit to the press having Mays running the second unit with Epps as the post could payoff.

I think he did that yesterday, Epps only played 11 minutes.
