Eh, I’ve seen bigger bombs on the quad on a misty spring morning.

I was at that game and sitting down the Lf line. It was a freaking bomb and I remember it landing about halfway down the hill beyond the bleachers at Rosenblatt. Still the farthest I’ve seen a ball hit in person.

58 games in a row with a HR? Truly gorilla ball.

it went a long long way...not sure if it went further than Joey Belle's hr against Miami though

Longest HR (on tv) was Lyle Mouton against UF

I've always been partial to Hawpe's second homer vs. USC in 2000. It's the most picture perfect homerun I've ever seen.

Those bats had more to do with the HR's than players being juiced. You still have to hit the ball.

It seems that Todd Walker is by far the most mention name when talking about past LSU baseball players.

That is sentimentality not production.
He seems to get more than the lion share of attention when talking about past LSU baseball greats. Don’t know why he never did shite in the pros to promote the legacy.

No idea why this would be interjected here. His MLB career was solid, not great. But his production at LSU is not in dispute.

Todd Walker bio

Any discussion of our all-time greats will include Todd Walker. Put together three amazing seasons.

Brandon Larson HR off Matt Andersen
1997 semis vs. Rice.

I always wanted to know how far did that sucker go. I mean that had everything going for it. 101 mile an hour fastball straight down the middle pitcher, a freakishly strong hitter, favorable winds.

I think there were tornadoes in the area. The foul poll was completely obsolete because that bomb was like 110 feet above the foul poll which is ridiculous. The ball just kind of disappeared and the empires waved it fair.

Brandon Larson gets overshadowed with all the freakish athletes that have come through LSU. His entire season was a hot streak.
Brandon Larson is a huge reason why I am such a huge fan of LSU baseball. His power was unbelievable. I started clipping newspaper articles and pictures of that team and making a scrap book.

Good to see Joe Morgan was always an idiot. Dude for Rice hung the shite out of that pitch.. that Joe calls a fastball.

Joey Belle hit more balls on to Nicholson than any players to come through the program. Ain’t even close

as a right handed hitter, I doubt it. He wasn't hitting 420 ft opposite field home runs. I'd imagine Eddy Furniss and Walker lead in that category.

He hit one over the bleachers in the power alley against Stanford a couple of days later too.
