Clemson carved them up by keeping the mlb in the box and throwing inside the hashes making the lb useless. This was done because Bama saw Watson as a threat to run and he was too accurate for them to cover post routes over the middle.

Is he going to play DL too because if we give up 300 yards rushing, Brandon is not going to beat Alabama.

I'm curious why a guy is still starting if he lacks confidence at this point of his career.

You my sir assume a sophomore QB in the most elite conference in college football is experienced with 8 starts going into to Bama's home field playing the best defense this century and having a off game and getting hurt is lacking confidence.

Horse shite

Brandon Harris is a quality QB and has 14 starts under his belt and has a 10-4 record.
2 losses to Alabama
1 loss to Arkansas
1 loss to Ole Miss
1 loss last year to Auburn

All 4 teams are "very quality opponents" as Les would say
I hope he stays 2 more years

That 10 second windup he has

Do you even watch the games? He has a very quick release. What do you call Tebow's windup? McCarron's? Hell...Mett's?

The ball comes out of his hand as fast as anyone in the nation. He's got issues--a slow release is definitely not one of them.

It's just that simple. He can beat the lesser teams but looks totally lost against the good ones.

Didn't that statement apply to the whole team?

Against Bama The OL was destroyed and Henry ran for 210 and Drake avg. 6.8 ypc. LF was shut down to less than 35 yds. Do you realize Harris accounted for all but 36 yards of LSU's offense?

Against Arky the D let the hogs run for 299 and a 7.5 ypc. Harris did throw for 271 but was sacked multiple times due to OL breakdowns. As a result the LSU run total was 59 yds.

Against Ole Miss, Kelley threw for 280 and ran for another 81 yds. Letting a QB run wild on you like that is inexcusable. Harris threw for 324 but was not efficient or accurate.

All 3 games games the D surrendered over 400yds and the pass protection was poor. So where did the rest of the team step up against the good teams?

This question goes out to anyone that has an answer.

was defense and special teams that cost them the game

Or burning a time out because they couldn't get the play in on time.

What am I talking about? Only LSU has false starts and delay of games.

Why do people think Harris is a runner

Are you kidding me? Running the read option is a huge asset that the coaches have failed to use. Pretty sure he ran for 1200 yards his SR year in high school.

I refuse to believe our offensive linemen woke up the morning of the Alabama game, and collectively decided to not try hard.

Try hard? I'm referring to how they made avg defensive ends look like all americans in 3 consecutive games. Hell the tackles had problems in pass pro against the likes of Syracuse and eastern Michigan.

OP, I'm sure this has been stated already, but competent play calling, and a qb that can complete passes could also beat them. BH is a great athlete and a Tiger, so I support him, but he is not the only type that can beat Bama.

Beating the toothless mouth breathers in the trenches is very hard. They're big, fast and deep along the front 7. The blueprint to beat them was what Clemson provided (almost).

Harris will need to improve dramatically but if he can, he has the tools to do it with laser quick passes and the ability to run and spread them out. The old way of trying to run to setup the pass will not work.

You are forgetting the half of the equation that LSU currently does not have. You also need a head coach and OC that gameplan to use the advantage a qb like Harris has to exploit Bama's weakness. If LSU runs an O like we did in the texas bowl we beat Bama, if we run an offense like we did vs Bama well you know the results.

Good point, I heard from a coach down south that the plan heading into the bama game was to spread them out, try to pick on the LBs in coverage...but Thursday before the game Miles nixed the plan and went back to the old way for fear of the weather (was supposed to be pouring all night)..... About Harris, he definitely has to get better short to intermediate passing, but qbs take time, Dak said the light didn't come on for him until his Jr year, but we have not played to his strengths at all. If that doesn't change we won't beat good teams

This hasn't been talked about much but in must pass situations the tackles were pretty bad this year. Hopefully Pocic can still transition after missing spring. Our O line as a whole is young, Grimes has done a great job but building an O line takes time, I think as a unit they progress this year, out of Weathersby, Malone, Pocic, and Chidi, and Domond we should be able to get two starters. I believe Domond was allowed back onto team but was not allowed to play this year as punishment for his domestic incident

I don't know how high jerald hawkins thinks he is going to get drafted but he better learn how to pass block if he expects to get on the field.
