re: Dave Aranda on LSU Defense

Posted by Jwsinsport on 3/4/16 at 5:56 pm
Well that seems pretty definitive, he said over and over he would do whatever the team needed. He's needed at LB, he will play LB, IMO that gives us two 5 star talent EE linebackers. With him at backer I think we are just fine. DAMN I CANT WAIT to get spring reports
I was speaking of his highlights where he hit some nice 15-20 yarders over the middle in some traffic but those were just highlights.

Not gonna get pulled into Miles bashing on this thread, not gonna do it. Comparing any of those coaches prior resumes to Arandas is dumb. 3 years straight at Wisky he's put up top 3-5 Defenses....oh yeah, he wasn't playing top talent,..but USC has as much talent as anyone... I believe halfway through our conference games there will be talk of the rest of the SEC trying to catch up to what he's doing with the Defense.

I'm convinced some of you'll are closet punks, when discussing football and someone talks "D" my mind NEVER jumps to dick, ever. Talk football or come out of the closet so you won't be thinking about the other kind of D all the time
Exactly sicboy, It's almost as if there are others motives afoot when discussing the QBs. I don't know who the QB will be and I don't care, I just want the offense to be better. If somebody looks at what Harris did and thinks there shouldn't at least be a competition they're crazy or biased. Part of Harris late season issues could have been the injury. I hope it was...one thing Etling has is accuracy and that's something that if we had at times last year the offense would have been much better. I hope Harris improves and plays great, but to throw Etling away without giving him a chance is, well, discriminatory... Glad that the ranters don't call the shots

I like Etling and McMillan, I love any QB on the roster that makes the team and QB position better and healthier. I don't care the depth chart as long as it makes the team better, I believe that McMillan can and will be a quality QB one day, I like that he and Scott will compete, both with time under their belt, for the job.

I'm really excited about the future of the O line, Grimes has been great and as all his guys mature he will only look better

There's competition, then there's competition for the starting spot, McMillan won't beat out 3 upperclassmen with 1+ year starting experience each. Come on man
There were insiders a few months ago that were adamant that changes were coming to more of a spread/shotgun offense...then we hire a QB/WR coach that has had success in more of a spread system...now all the offers to spread qbs...I think Miles saw "his life flash before his eyes" this fall, I think we see a different offense this year. I think we see a real change this year.

Don't worry about them man, some people just hate everybody, ALOT of fans think BH has the job sewn up, I don't know if the staff is thinking that or not but I'd like to see a real competition between Harris and Etling. Competition always brings out the best in guys, IMO, Harris did not do enough to be the unquestioned starter

Yep, we have a pretty good mix of veterans and young talent to have competition at every spot. I also believe J. Domond will compete, he's now a RS SR, I believe Miles reinstated him last summer but wouldn't allow him to play last year. Grimes brought him in as a juco 4 star OT, 6-5 310 and played ice hockey in High school so he's really athletic.... Its nice to look around and see good options everywhere

I think the O line will collectively be better. Neither Vadal or Hawk was great last year. When the Fr arrive Grimes will have brought in 10 OL in two classes, Pocic, KJ, Clapp, Brumfield, Boutte, Dodd were inherited. Teuhema and Weathersby played very well as TFr. COV, Brown, & Magee are probably still just good depth as RSFr. With Pocic out J. Domond RSSr, COV, and Brown will get a chance to make an impression this spring. Campbell is the only T Fr that I think could play this year. Cush, Allen and Savage are probably RS. We will have better competition this year than we have had in a long time.
LT KJ/Pocic- COV
LG Teuhema- Campbell
C Clapp- Dodd
RG Brum/Boutte/Weathersby
RT Pocic/Domond/Weathersby
I very rarely comment on B Ball, I am admittedly a fair weather, I watched big baby, Stro, and Tyrus. I watched us blow the Kentucky game last year, blow the Oklahoma game this year... I also watched a few big wins from the JJ era, I don't know basketball specifics but it's been obvious to me whether it's lack of rebounding, blocking out, a plan on offense, Intensity, organization, whatever the case I've seen a team that had the talent to play with anyone underperform over and over... When your talking about college athletes it is the coaches fault, period. I'm not a JJ hater, I'm too casual of a fan to be, but it's just painfully obvious these players have quit and do not believe in him anymore....I hate this BC LSU got a huge talent, this was the chance to turn it around as a program.... I hate to see anyone fired but JJ should be, you can't say that Coach Cal, Coach K, hell, Avery Johnson would get this team to the last 16 or 8 w this roster..when a team quits on you, your done, this team has quit
Can't argue with you on that, I laughed, well done

re: Dylan Moses

Posted by Jwsinsport on 2/19/16 at 3:15 pm
In order to get Moses this year the team needs to go out and perform up to its full potential, period. Moses has said that he likes Sabans message of the process....but I think he believes in that because of the results on the field, if you turned the table results wise with LSU and bama I think he's a huge LSU lean if not committed. Moses is dedicated to greatness, he wants the team he plays for to be also, and like it or not, the perception of LSU lately has been an underperforming, at times disorganized team that can not consistently play up to its potential, the defensive staff being in flux hasnt helped either. If we go out this year, make the playoffs, Aranda puts a mean arse Defense on the field, we prove we can have good QB play, bottom line we play to our full potential I think we get Moses.
I think it's impossible to put a for sure 1-10 kind of group, but I think it can be done like elite, very good, average etc. Coach O, Raymond, and Craig are all easily elite and I believe in Julukes area he will be elite. Grimes, BDP, and Miles are all in the very good category. Aranda and Ensminger, in their roles, are very good as well. CCC is the only weak link, besides Harris his QB recruiting has been very bad but he has managed to bring in high quality WRs. One big deal here is C. Craig is going to give LSU a BIG presence in Mobile and the surrounding areas again. Saban has shut us out of Alabama, Craig's going to give Saban and Malzahn both big headaches recruiting wise, that's a fact. If we get even 2 guys/year from Bama that's a big win for us, I can't wait to see this staff go out and perform
I'm so tired of loser thread police

re: Marvin wilson number 1 dt

After this next class we will start to see the Orgeron effect. In two classes to get RL, EA, TS, MW at DTackle would be ridiculous. He's our most important guy on D, with a dominant D line we will always have a good D

DC has been recruiting Mobile since Fla St, he can finally get us back into Alabama with a chance to close with some top guys, we've missed being able to recruit Mobile since Saban got to bama. Hiring DC was a great hire on several levels

Our CB talent is so sick Paris has to make a move to Safety, he seems like a perfect fit, as far as TW vs KT2 vs DJ, TW was our best last year but KT2 was sick for a TFr last year, if you can't see that you shouldn't be talking DB play. DJ is a speed freak that just needs time to develop his game, I think the two compliment each other perfectly...all this does is give the next star Saivion a ton of reps. I honestly think we may have the most talented DB group ever
