Excellent thoughts. Alabama loses players every year and keeps on trucking like no ones business.

It;s probably the only program doing that right now. They are in a different class than anyone else. I could see OSU under Urban doing that.

So why did we not win one while those guys were actually here?? Everyone points to the fact that they all departed to the NFL and that has directly lead to our fortunes on the field this year. But we did not win a national championship with them either. So what gives??

Didn't you know that there is another MAJOR side to playing football other than defense?

No instead they got shafted by media bias and had to play a team they already beat.

But yeah playing for one as sophomores is diff. Do you think we play for one in 2011 with out some leadership? Brandon Taylor was a very underrated player on that years d. They would have been the srs and leaders of this team. Them with a few from this year would have brought us a title.

You can't expect to lose guys like Eric Reid, Kevin Minter, Tharold Simon and Bennie Logan and it not take its toll. Imagine all those guys back this year ... we would be talking about LSU going to the national championship."

With those guys we couldn't beat Bama, Clemson or Florida.

totally agree with BH BUT their's a reason they left, that's the problem. I know some left because of their draft stock at the time but the rest bailed because they saw '13 was gonna suck. I think it sucks that they abandoned their former teammates but they saw the ship sinking and they bailed. If half of them had stayed LSU would be talking NC, our defense suffered with inexperience this year and next year it will be our offense that struggles. '15 LSU will be 100% ready to kick arse!

Dumbest serious post I've seen here in years.

Don't need his thoughts on Ole Miss

Don't throw 3 picks in scoring position and we win

Uh the third loss was a bowl game.

We most definitely were in the National Championship discussion until Bama beat us.

And last year we didn't have a good offense. This year we do.

Last year: Bad Offense - Good Defense
This year: Good Offense - Bad Defense

All players stay from last year you are looking at this year being: Good Offense Good Defense

Amazing how you inbred retards can't understand a pretty simple quote.

Every team loses players, but we did lose a lot of talent. My question is, how the hell does Bama lose talent and continue to punish teams? I'm not saying they're the same team defensively, but at the end of the day they win the damn game.

Our problem was the mass exodus was on ONE side of the ball. Usually when teams lose players to the NFL, it's spread out on both sides of the ball.

I disagree

In 2012, Alabama lost Upshaw, Barron, Kirkpatrick, Hightower, and Menzie.

Result, NC w/ 1 loss

We lost some key guys last year for sure, but our defense has fallen flat this year.

I think we get better next year as our defense is very young, I just don't understand why we are as bad as we are this year. We have the talent, so is it coaching, execution, or what?

I'm so sick of this. The BCS is supposed to match up the top 2 teams in the country. Do I wish we would have played OK State? Of course. Were they a better team than Alabama? No chance in hell. The BCS did its job, and we were embarrassed in the biggest game of the year
