I can't be the only one that was a little perplexed to see him not in the lineup at all on Friday. Then, DHing yesterday he had a couple hard hit balls that just found gloves. Today, he gets 6 RBIs in 3 ABs. It was my opinion going into this season he was the best catcher on our roster. I hope he finds his way into being the Friday/Saturday starter behind the dish.

Yeah. I’m just gonna trust Jay Johnson to tinker with the line up as he pleases.

I suspect the process is well underway to determine best lineup. They’re all being evaluated the same.

Neal will undoubtedly be the starter
Travinshy will be DH and spot catcher
Unfortunately Milazzo will be did man out

He is going to play a ton but not be an everyday catcher due to his health/injury history. Jay said before the season that he might not ever catch back to back days

Neal is the best overall player but he should and hopefully will be protected from injury and the wear and tear of the position. The drop off from him to the others isn’t game changing significant so he should be content to get 25-30 starts and some DH days this year. But, to be clear, he is the best overall player at the position.

Milazzo is doing one hell of a job blocking balls from these last 2 pitchers.

If you had paid attention to the preseason interviews you would realize that LSU is looking for ways to keep him healthy including rest days and non catching playing time. He started every game for the first 25 games or so and went out with a sore back and never made it back by the end of the season.

LSU still has the two catchers on the roster that took them to the promised land last season so LSU does not need to force the physical endurance issue at this point.

Genuine question, how is he a draft sophomore if he reclassified to enroll a year early and this is only his second year?

Because the other guy don’t know what he is talking about. He is not a draft eligible sophomore.
