What I don't understand is Deichmann froze for a second and saw the ball was in the air but he continued running

CPM in love with hit and run. We need to work the counts. This guy needs to throw more pitches and work for it.

Deichmann is supposed to look in and check. Yes. It's a hit and run. But it's no different that a straight steal where if the ball goes in the air you get back. Deichmann even stutter stepped. He should have gone back.
