Look up Miles SEC record his last three years. We were on a clear downward trajectory. But don't let the facts get in the way of your opinion.

Except our overall and SEC record improved from 2014 to 2015.

The program had plateaued and it was time for Les to go. But you'd think we were 6-6 his last season with the way people talk about it on here.

So SEC west title or bust?

What if we go 11-1 and make the CFP without an SECW title?

Not conceding the Bama game, but it would certainly be possible.

Miles was 19-10 in his last 29 games. Orgeron is 25-9 since with a NY6 Bowl win, improving recruiting and finally hiring the right people to make changes to the offense instead of talking about doing it.

No come back? As several have stated, what rise?

If only there was some criteria for measuring O against his peers and predecessor.

SEC West finish
(Miles)
2005 -- 1st
2006 -- 3rd
2007 -- 1st
2008 -- 3rd
2009 -- 2nd
2010 -- 3rd
2011 -- 1st
2012 -- 2nd
2013 -- 3rd
2014 -- 4th
2015 -- 4th
(Orgeron interim)
2016 -- 3rd
(Orgeron)
2017 -- 3rd
2018 -- 3rd

SEC winning % (we'll just consider record at LSU to make it less awful for Coach 0):
Miles: 69%
Coach 0: 68%

Finishes 1st or 2nd in SEC West:
Miles: 5 of 11 tries
Coach 0: 0 of 3 tries

A rise would be finishing better than 3rd in the SEC West.

Miles was fired over a 9-3 2015.

O was extended after a 3 loss 2018 where LSU finished 6th in the nation.

Logic is not your strong suit, I see.

The last 5 years Miles finished below his preseason rank. Last year was the first time since 2013 we exceeded expectations. It’s something to build on with the upcoming season. The Texas game will tell us a lot about where we are as a program.

If you make it an even 34, as in O’s sample size you used, his record is 23-11.

Orgeron is 25-9 since

So, a two game improvement and even worse performances against the measuring stick of LSU’s program, Alabama.

Why are you bringing up Miles in a discussion regarding where LSU sits as a program?

You basically just said that O got extended for doing what Miles did on a regular basis.

As I stated for you before, if not for a lightning cancelled game against McNeese in 2015, 6 of Miles's last 7 full years were 9-3 or better in regular season.

Thus, 9-3 being nothing special.

Certainly not a "rise"....

Well when people say the program is clearly vastly improved from where it was under Les, it makes sense to discuss where we were in Les' final years and where we are now. Is that OK with you, lil bud?

I guess you missed this part of the OP:
"LSU made that rise with the toughest schedule in college football, according to S&P’s rankings.

Miles in his last couple seasons was getting blown out by teams like Arkansas and Ole Miss.

Even with Arky being like:

I don't think they had a high S&P rating.

As opposed to losing to Troy and suffering an all-time loss to Mississippi State?

the 2016 win vs arkansas was a nice job by orgeron. that was the spot miles usually got beat in. i am happy orgeron has beaten them the last two years, but those are two of the worst teams in arkansas history.

I'm telling you that Ika and Shelvin will wreck shite in the middle. For the ones that truly know how a 3-4 works that is a MUST!

This is the first season since Aranda has been at LSU that LSU will have a true 3-4 nose tackle. AND they just happen to have two.

What all can you tell me about S&P? Sounds interesting.

I see that Ole Miss was 3rd and Arkansas was 14th in the final 2015 S&P fwiw.

really?

Les' SEC record his last 3+ seasons:
5-3
4-4
5-3
1-1

O's SEC record:
4-2
6-2
5-3

And you ask "REALLY?".

In what world is Miles' 15-11 record considered better or on an improved trajectory over Eaux's 15-7?
