The last 5 years Miles finished below his preseason rank

Eh, preseason polls are worthless

2012 and 2013 were good solid seasons, could easily have been 11-2 in each. Third/Fourth and Chavis cost us a couple of games

What all can you tell me about S&P? Sounds interesting.
I guess this is the list they are using: LINK

5 of the top 7 in SoS are SEC West teams. So, I guess it's news to Cheerios that the SEC West is pretty competitive?

Btw, one of those 5 is a&m, who finished ahead of LSU last season with a coach who is one of Ree's favorite punching bags.

You wouldn’t call (Ending the season ranked #6, beating several top 10 ranked teams, winning a NY6 bowl game, all this after being picked to be mediocre or worse,) an amazing season?
Some of you will never be satisfied.,

We love 9-4 seasons when they aren't ours, don't we?

You basically just said that O got extended for doing what Miles did on a regular basis.

LSU hadn’t had a year that good in 6-7 years.

A “regular basis” 12 years ago, yea.

Miles last few years, no.

quote:

As I stated for you before, if not for a lightning cancelled game against McNeese in 2015, 6 of Miles's last 7 full years were 9-3 or better in regular season.

And he still would have been fired for the embarrassing losses his last few years capped off by the 2015’ embarrassment

Amazing? Hell no. It was a good season and one which can be (and hopefully will be) a building block kind of season for far bigger and better things.

yeh and UCF...all were top 10 when we played correct? You do realize that when they say a coach is 15-3 against ranked teams it is counted only if they were ranked at the time the teams played.

again, I have no idea where people get this shite. Surely they aren’t counting UCF as “competition” because without Milton they were really garbage. Zero defense.

Then the losses to TAMU and UF and shut out by Bama..
Miami was so bad their coach quit and AU nearly fired Gus. Had they not recently gave him that big extension, he was gone.

LSU has 1 quality win and that was against UGA. There were 2 unacceptable losses. Then Zero points against Bama for the second time in 3 years. SMH

Where were they when LSU played them. Where were their defenses ranked at the end of the year? What was LSU'S strength of schedule?

I'd say that your attempt to shite on the team's accomplishments is a fail.

I'm not going to play down the Auburn win. Winning at Jordan-Hare is always a task, even if Auburn isn't that great.

The Miami win was just not all that impressive, with the benefit of hindsight. I'm of course glad we took care of business but that was a mediocre to bad team that was horribly overrated.

And you ask "REALLY?".

In what world is Miles' 15-11 record considered better or on an improved trajectory over Eaux's 15-7?
Les' last full year was 5-3 in the SEC. O's last year was 5-3 in the SEC.

Are things slightly better now than Les' last few years - yes, I agree. But the difference is not huge, and we were sold on O immediately elevating the program to championship level, which hasn't happened.

Aren't you the one that just embarrassed yourself about the recruiting coordinator in 2015?

Maybe you should take your own advice.

Why don’t you post who they were and how many head coaches are still there. Also post who he lost to in those “great seasons”.
All fricking smoke and mirrors and I 100000% believe Miles would have exceeded those numbers.

With that said, I posted on here multiple times Miles needed to be fired long before 2015 because you could see the writing on the wall with his shitty offense.

I keep hearing this but I never see any evidence of immediate promises for championships.

I know he told Will Clapp they were going to the championship when he was hired but that's all I can find.

Promises

quote:

Orgeron said his love for the state will never fade, and he can’t wait to build LSU into a program that he believes can contend for titles – all titles.
