That is nice, but I went to the Vandy series last year and that stadium is a dump.

Yeah, not a good job by Skip Bertman on that one. It was obsolete the day it opened, so it was really never state-of the-art.

Every athletics project has been a clusterfrick.
Tiger Stadium is Frankenstein, that’s why every side looks different.
I don’t believe a new arena will ever be built.
The basketball ops was built without coaches offices and other basic amenities.
Track and field is an afterthought.

I have people tell me the palace that is new Alex box cost us Nick Saban.
Now i read that the stadium is trash.
Color me confused.
I have been to most of the stadiums in the SEC including Vandy s so i guess I am missing something.
Exactly what do you want changed?

Chairbacks and suites should be extended to foul poles. This addition will allow for the concourse to expand and also give you ample auxiliary space underneath the new seats that can be used for visitor locker room, in game batting cages, bullpen, etc.
The home locker room and team space hasn’t been updated in quite some time.
Build some permanent structures in the outfield. It doesn’t have to be a berm, but at least do something imaginative and get rid of the bleachers that were trucked over from AB1. Put a permanent batters eye up that doesn’t look like an afterthought.
Jay wants an indoor facility which will need go behind center field where facility services is.

Does the locker room need updating?
The player amenities have never been a problem with the entire facility. The problems are the bullpen and things the fans want for comfort and aesthetics. But the stuff the players have is top shelf

Nothing wholesale, but I don’t think the lockers have been changed out once. I guess that part is me nitpicking.

This.....the New York Yankees play in one of the worst stadiums in MLB. Yankee Stadium is ranked 25th out of 30.

I love Alex Box, the hate is ridiculous
You could spend a little to upgrade metal bleachers and do something with the RF area and that would be enough

Thats very disingenuous. I’ve been to games in a lot of parks and it’s one of the better stadiums. Every other ballpark in the AL East is worse than it from a practicality standpoint. Opposing players continue to rate is as one of the best to play in.

They could also spend enough for renovations to last 20+ years.
Adding a handful of premium seats to a vacant space is not an upgrade. That’s just a money grab.

Yep. I recall the first time I went to a game in 2009. I was excited to see the new Box. But once inside I thought "this is it?" It was like they built the park as cheaply and generic as possible, except they added suites to make it "premium".
In all honest, I think the biggest thing fans would want is to just replace the aluminum bleachers down the lines with chairs. That seems like a pretty easy fix for a program that wants to hold itself out as the standard of college baseball.
