Bottom Line: You want to compete for championships you better have a QB

Strong grasp for the obvious here but LSU's QB play MUST improve for them to have any chance to win SEC West in 2015. This is the MAIN reason we are not getting the recognition we deserve for being a potential title contender (possibly a GREAT team) this season. I hope someone steps up and proves me wrong. Would like to see what Harris can do with a few quality starts. Jennings is a good/decent manager but we simply NEED more...... Long off-season for me.... Anyone else have an insight into this mess that Les has created?

2011 made some think otherwise. We had an NFL caliber defense and the playmaker of the decade, and a poor Qb, and we still had one of the best regular seasons in college football history, and also won the SEC.

But short of the NFL defense and Honey Badger, we would not have had either the best season nor the SEC championship. It was the rare exception to the "you have to have a good QB" thesis.

Proves you wrong about what? That you need a QB to compete for championships? Am I confused, or do you just suck at expressing a coherent thought?

You don't need a qb to win championships. You need a strong run game that wears down defenses and a stout defense.

I think Les has the right idea here. Instead of trying to score 40 points a game to win, ensure that 14-17 points a game is enough for a win as the opponent is worn down and unable to get through the dline.

And its a very fair critique.

This season may determine exactly how rare of a thing it is. 2015 defense is loaded.

Great...Well, I just hope LSU attacks on one side of the ball....Bend-don't-break, might be effective, but it was about as entertaining as 3 yards and a cloud of dust. Hopefully, we get one unit to kick some arse, at least...

Yes, agree LSU will need QB development to get that next SEC title or make the playoffs. Too important a position.

Why do we deserve more than we are getting?

How are we "loaded" without legitimate pass rushers?

we actually had relatively good QB's in 2011 compared to the rest of the SEC

You're absolutely right and a freaking genius. When I look back at 2011, I think to myself if we only had a strong defense and a legit running game we'd have another BCS NC. We had everything we need under center that year...
