So much this....
These kids no longer are kids...they are well paid adults getting more than the majority of folks paying to sit in the.seats and watch them...they need to accept what comes with that money....accountability to those of us who are sick of half efforts and premadonna bullshite.

I dont boo, and really dont like it. However, they are all paid to play now and people spend a lot of money and time to try to support the program. They are allowed to do what they want. Put a better product on the field.

If this offends you that much it would probably be best if you never attend another live sporting event again.

It doesn’t offend me. It looks bad on our fanbase and makes the people doing it look childish. I’m not personally offended

My daughter and her family were at the game - sitting close to the student section in the north end zone.

She called me after that game wanting to know what I thought about all the booing === told her I had not heard any watching on YTV.

She said that where she was it was loud as hell. None of us like Kelly at the moment (except her son-in-law) but thought booing the home team was completely unacceptable.

Been monitoring the Rant since to see if anyone brings it up - this is the first mention I've seen of it, so it must not have been as bad as it sounded in the section.

Our fanbase has some of the dumbest MFers on the planet. At the game Saturday half the starting lineup was boo’d by a portion of our stupid entitled fans. People screaming at Nuss mid-play like they know what they’re talking about. Screaming at the defense for not getting pressure when Vandy is using quick game concepts. Just shut up and watch the game.

I agree our fanbase is stupid, but I'll take the booing over the opposite. Ask TAMU what 80 years of being nice and classy has gotten them.

GAIDS. It's gotten them GAIDS. Which is Gay AIDS. And you may be thinking "Isn't AIDS already pretty gay?" Yes, it is. But not gay enough for A&M.

There were clear boos for Major, Sage, and Nuss when they announced starters for Vandy. Loudest from the student section for sure. I think it's crappy to do that for lineups, come to support the team and turn boo a performance if stuff goes south.

the boos will continue for Sage and Major as they walk out to their families on senior day next week. Imagine how bad that will look. About as trashy as you can get.

And the dummies in here will justify the behavior.

LSU received the ball. They actually fumbled the opening kick but were fortunate a guy who wasn't' blocking anyone was standing there and caught the fumble. The offense then promptly went 3 and out. Vandy took over and scored immediately on a 65 yard pass where a guy was wide open because of a blown coverage. In what part of that sequence was there something to cheer about?

Regardless, that was the only time all game boos and chants of "Fire Kelly" were prevalent, and it was nowhere close to "loud as hell". It was isolated to the student section and barely discernible where I was on the East side of the stadium.

On the ensuing possession LSU got the ball and went 90 yards, in 8 plays, for a game-tying TD. At that point it almost sounded like there were cheers in the stadium! You didn't hear anymore widespread "boos" again for the remainder of the game.

It's almost as if LSU fans are like every other fan base in the world in every sport. They cheer when things are going well, and voice their displeasure when they aren't. Fans have to actually care enough to boo. If you want to be a part of a fanbase that doesn't care enough to boo, go be a fan of UCLA, or Northwestern, or any other program with little to no expectations. They don't care enough about losing to actually get upset. Otherwise, (right or wrong) there will be moments where the crowd boos.

No they won't (aside from a few isolated people). Those guys aren't the first unpopular players in LSU history. Far from it. Yet, previous unpopular players haven't received widespread boos on senior day. They won't get a raucous ovation like some other guys will, but it won't be widespread booing.

It's valid to say players are paid, they should be able to take it.

But, recruits are watching. Half empty stadiums, booing players and yelling fire BK maybe not the best strategy.

Exactly. When you get paid big money either do your job or get out.
The greed is imploding the team culture and destroying the college game. Don’t think there is not dissension and envy on most teams. He shouldn’t get more $ than me, I am better.

Agree with this.

Kelly is making Fortune 500 ceo money.

Players are getting paid now.

People are still paying for their tickets to see the game.

When things start to get this transactional, I think the boos should be unsurprising when there’s an unsatisfactory performance.

Professional athletes get booed all the time. SEC football players are professional athletes now. If you are paid to play, there is an expectation. When you do not meet those expectations, those paying you are entitled to express their opinion.

I can assure you my boss does much worse than boo me when I do not perform my job well.

Gone are the days when the players were playing for the love of the sport and their dedication to a school.

If the player sucks, or the coach sucks, or the playcall sucks, believe me I’m the loudest booer in the stadium. I don’t care about your feelings these are professionals now.

They’re soaking up the attention and screwing as many girls around campus as they can in their free time.
