I don't see how anyone would want to go to the Saints right now unless it was a higher position. I love the Saints, but I'm not even planning on wasting a Sunday watching them next season.

The highest paid DL coach in the NFL makes substantially less than Bo Davis did.

its not about money. Its about coaching at the highest level and a MUCH better quality of life now. You get time off in the NFL and don't have to recruit and deal with NIL and home visits and all of that nonsense.

This is a similar type of situation to “why would xyz recruit pick abc school over LSU?!? We’re better!”

Here’s the reality…people aren’t the same as you. Not everyone is motivated by the same things. Neither of us know Bo. Maybe he hates college aged kids? maybe he doesn’t like recruiting in NIL era? Maybe he’s just bored and wants to do something different. Not every coach or player is looking at every opportunity out there and trying to exclusively find the place with the best chance to win championships

Man look, when you spend months(years?) recruiting Jahkeem Stewart, have the relationship, have the proximity advantage, and he just picks the highest bidder…yea, I’d say frick that too.

This has got to be some sort of record with the amount of DL coach turnover we’ve had the past 6 seasons.

Timing is horrible too with Spring about to start.

LSU stole him from Texas, the Saints stole him from LSU.

LSU will steal another D Line coach from somewhere.

It's just an endless cycle.

This is a hilarious reaction to a position coach being hired by a pro team

NFL assistant coaching salaries are not public info, so how could you possibly know this?

The Athletic had a report from last year that said the offensive line coaches salaries for those coaches with 1-5 years of experience had a variance of 1.1 million from the lowest paid to the highest paid. Using that info, you can infer that there are definitely NFL assistant coaches making more than 1.35 million.

A DL coach in the pros is higher than a DL coach in college. Hell, a damn DC just left their team to become linebackers coach for the Saints.

Because they hired an LSU position coach? YOu never loved the Saints if you plan on "not watching" them because of this. See you on Sundays.

fricking Saints.

He gets paid more, and he doesn't have to chase athletes 24/7 with the NIL bullshite. Who would not go to the NFL if given the chance?

What a stupid point of view. If the Saints didn't do it, another team would have. NIL has ruined college football, and any coach with the opportunity to jump to the NFL, with an increase in pay and no recruiting, would definitely make the move.
