Verge needs to get off his arse and schedule a week 0 rent a win against an eligible team. I don't give a shite if its dirty pool, a bad look or whatever. Ethics went out the window with NIL and the portal. No way in hell should we go to Clemson without a warm-up game.

There's just no value to scheduling these games anymore with a 12 team playoff.
Before you needed these type games to boost your resume to get in over teams with weaker schedules. But now strength of schedule doesn't matter especially already playing the difficult SEC schedule.
Now it's just win regardless of who you play. Indiana, Penn St, Boise, Notre Dame and SMU have all beaten absolutely no one yet will all be playoff teams.
If you're LSU the formula is simple. You schedule 4 rent a wins non conference then go 6-2 in conference or better and you're in every year.
