re: BK took ND to the same place they are now...

What were the four toughest regular season games that ND had this year? Not taking anything away from last two games but it helps to get into the playoffs when your regular season schedule is soft...

And 2020 Clemson was home, in OT, and Trevor Lawrence didn't play. Uigalalei (sp?) did pass for almost 500 yds against Kelly's soft defense

You can start with two teams that LSU lost to if you want

Al, can you answer my question above?

Freeman officially has more “big wins” in the last month and Kelly has in his tenure at LSU.
And more than Kelly had during his ND tenure too. Kelly never won a big game at ND.

Legitimate question, does typing out that list of teams make you feel better about LSU or Brian Kelly?

So Kelly goes 3-2 in those games

Ah so it was harder, got it. Thanks for proving his point

Right and so far in this singular playoff, Marcus Freeman has beaten as many final top 10 teams as BK did in 12 years. You understand how someone could look at that and think it’s more impressive right?
You can make all the assumptions you want about what their record would have been in the SEC. But they aren’t in the SEC. If Brian Kelly wanted an easy path to championship, he should have stayed at Notre Dame. Saying “well if LSU played Notre Dame’s schedule, they would be in the playoff too” is fricking stupid. Either accept the challenge of the SEC or move to a lesser conference.

Maybe not. The SEC wasn't very good this year.

I'm too lazy to dispute the SOS claim, but in 2012 they beat a lot of teams that were ranked at time of play and then faded. Outside of OU in Norman, all the other "ranked wins" that season ended up being mediocre and none of them looked big at the end of the season. And you are right KeLLLLy never lost to NIU, but he did lose to: Navy and Tulsa in the same year 2010. He lost a season opener to USF in 2011. He got boat raced by BAMA in the NC game in 2012. He lost to a 4-4 Pitt team in 2013. He lost 5 of 6 games to close out 2014. He went 4-8 in year 7 at ND in 2016. He got waxed by Miam and Stanford to fall out of playoff contention in 2017. In 2018, he failed to bring a team ready to play Clemson in the playoffs and lost 30-3. In 2020 He got smoked by Clemson 34-10 in the ACC championship and then followed that up with a 31-14 loss to BAMA in the CFP.
If you like KeLLLLy turning LSU into LLLLSU, so be it. But y'all seem to forget about all the bad losses he took as the HC at ND. He also has a season of vacated wins and killed a kid.

their five toughest games were, in no particular order: Texas A&M Navy USC Army Louisville
Also beat Georgia and arguably Franklin’s best PSU team

And spent the week before the game interviewing for NFL jobs he didn't get, because everyone he talked to immediately clocked him as a fake, front running piece of garbage. Then he got his shite pushed in.
He will go down blaming you, and your sainted mothers, and everything else but himself on the way to a parade of 9-3 seasons and first round playoff drubbings. frick that loser.

You are right. But his appearance was just as well deserved as LSU's in 2003, 2007 and 2011. He should get credit.
