re: Notre Dame fans warned us

We absolutely were ready for him to be gone prior to 2019. Sure there were fans that were happy we were no longer in the Davie-Willingham-Weis years, but it was clear early he wasn't the answer. He dumbed down the schedule, still lost to Tulsa at home, never had teams ready for big games, and got blown out every time the spotlight was out. He also killed a kid and is the only ND coach to vacate wins, so there's that.

This is as far back as texts I have saved, but I've been adding extra L's to his name for a very long time.

He's not struggling. This is exactly who he is. This is who ND fans that came over to this forum to warn you about. He's a narcissist, who when questioned, will immediately tell you how smart he is because of how long he's been a coach. I've seen a couple of posts about him changing, or when will he make changes...he won't, a quick Google search of "get used to it Brian Kelly" will tell you this is who he is and he won't change anything unless forced by your AD. Yall thought we were sad, bitter, and in denial when we told you we weren't mad he was gone. Y'all tried to say he built a culture or foundation at ND which Freeman took. None of that was true then, none of it is true now, and it will be the same at LSU when he leaves.

If you think they look like a KeLLLLy team, then you never watched a full game of ND football while he was the coach. You might find 1 of 10 ND fans who think that. I know you are trying to justify your coach, but the reality is 99/100 ND fans were glad he left when he did. HIs meathead agent was always trying to squeeze more out of ND while he decimated the culture and traditions.
He also had to vacate wins and killed a kid. The good news is, with a 12 team playoff his habit to lose 1-2 mind boggling games every single year will probably allow him to sneak into the playoffs at least once before ALL the pitchforks come out.

Hiring a DC and actually mentoring him as a coach or to take over as a coach are completely different things. Freeman installed his system and ran his own defense. A complete overhaul from the previous defenses run under BK. The analysis that the current program has anything to do with KeLLLLy is complete fiction and wishful thinking by folks that think he is a good coach. Denbrock may be a KeLLLLy product, but I'm hoping Denbrock moves on (wishful thinking probably).
54 players and 9 coaches including the OC and DC that were part of BK teams are not part of the current program. Plain and simple, this isn't the program BK left. Mentality, culture, and traditional aspects of ND football have been restored from the teardown that BK performed. Which includes lowering the academic standards.
BK culture is not being ready for big games, taking the ball when you win the toss and doing nothing on the first drive, first drive false starts, burning TO's in the first quarter, taking a knee at the end of the first half, QB regression, having teams that don't play full games, vacating wins, and killing kids by putting them in scissor lifts during extreme winds. I always liked watching LSU teams of the past, but BK will turn you into LLLLSU before he's competitive in the National Title picture.

Have to disagree on a couple of points. While the Denbrock offense is better this year, stepping up from the play calling of Tummysticks Rees and Gerard Parker is a super low bar.
As for KeLLLLy's fingerprints....barely anything of this team resembles a BK product. 16 of 22 starters never had a single practices under BK. Xavier Watts, Mitchell Evans, and Pat Coogan . Freeman had to scramble to keep the class together the year BK left. Sure BK hired Freeman, but I consider Freeman to be on the Fickell coaching tree and not BK. He got his first opportunity as a DC under Darrell Hazell at Purdue and refined his coaching under Fickel at Cincinnati. Nothing Freeman does resembles the BK years.

This is not a KeLLLLy team and the vast majority of guys getting PT are not BK guys. Of 22 starters, 16 were never part of the program under BK. Freeman isn't doing this with BK players, he's developed the talent and brought in some transfers in impactful positions and changed the culture. ND doesn't false start as much, they look ready to play at the start of games, they don't hang it up after a good half or after a bad half, and they never feel out of a game. The impending doom of KeLLLLy taking the ball to start the game and going 3 and out is gone. Players looking lost is gone. Post game press conferences of BK losing his shite is gone. Terrible use of timeouts on an every game basis gone. Marshall last year and NIU this year are baffling losses, only having 10 guys on the field against OSU was baffling. But MF seems to be doing something that BK never did, learn from the disasters.
Oh yeah, ND had vacated wins and BK got a kid killed.

I'm too lazy to dispute the SOS claim, but in 2012 they beat a lot of teams that were ranked at time of play and then faded. Outside of OU in Norman, all the other "ranked wins" that season ended up being mediocre and none of them looked big at the end of the season. And you are right KeLLLLy never lost to NIU, but he did lose to: Navy and Tulsa in the same year 2010. He lost a season opener to USF in 2011. He got boat raced by BAMA in the NC game in 2012. He lost to a 4-4 Pitt team in 2013. He lost 5 of 6 games to close out 2014. He went 4-8 in year 7 at ND in 2016. He got waxed by Miam and Stanford to fall out of playoff contention in 2017. In 2018, he failed to bring a team ready to play Clemson in the playoffs and lost 30-3. In 2020 He got smoked by Clemson 34-10 in the ACC championship and then followed that up with a 31-14 loss to BAMA in the CFP.
If you like KeLLLLy turning LSU into LLLLSU, so be it. But y'all seem to forget about all the bad losses he took as the HC at ND. He also has a season of vacated wins and killed a kid.
