That's basically was i just said. He hasn't improved enough in 5 yrs. Doesn't sound like kelly is processing him for another running back. Sounds like it will be the same rotation next yr as of now.
My comment was aimed more at the guy you responded to. I agree with most of what you said.
I don’t think Emery will be processed directly, but he may leave on his own if he isn’t promised anything more than the role he’s had. I can’t imagine the staff will coddle him after he didn’t step up this season. Kelly said it’s in his hands. This may be why he’s putting it that way.
As for the rotation, we also thought that was set at QB by this time last season. If the right guy shows interest, I don’t think they will hesitate to bring in another RB.

Emery is a good kid.
He was massively overrated coming out of high school.
I saw him play plenty in high school and I just never understood the hype.
He was real good player deserving of a scholarship from a good program but he was not a 5 star.
He was just nowhere near the player of other 5 Star guys like Fournette or Guice or even a Jeremey Hill.
All along I figured I'm just not an evaluator and maybe I'm missing something but as it turns out, his career was what I expected.
If he wants to keep playing football, he should come back. He will never make a NFL roster. He might hang onto a practice squad for a year or two but that's his ceiling.

Let’s be honest… Emery is average at best. We just need new running backs. Someone please wave the magic wand…

I’m okay if he’s gone.
Fumbleitis all the time usually at the worst situations

It’s jsut so frustrating.
His flashes are few and far between because he doesn’t get enough touches because he’s so bad at holding onto the ball.

quote:Sullivan was a hybrid TE/WR; a potential niche player that gives you a good matchup either as WR in the redzone, or as a receiving TE matched up against a linebacker.
I think if Stephen Sullivan can get drafted, Emery should be able to go in the 7th round.
Emery is a generic decent runner at RB, who hasn't put a single breakout game together, and shows issues with both ball security and pass protection.
You take a shot on Sullivan if you have good starters and want depth and special teams guys, you take a shot on Emery only when every back on the roster is out with injury, there's no practice squad guys (even on other rosters) available, and it's week 16 and he's stayed in shape.

Right. He didn’t just so flashes this year, he showed dominance on a lot of his touches. The other touches he lost the ball.

Is he TCU bound too?
To join the other player from LSU who could hold on to the ball

You think he all of a sudden is just going to get better in those areas after 5 years?
Y’all act like the man didn’t go over a year without playing football. He clearly has the physical tools and his explosiveness has helped us win multiple big games most noticeably against Bama and Auburn

This is just wrong. The plays he makes are far from average he just doesn’t get touches because he’s careless with the football. Idk what they can do to fix that though

Worth ethic and attitude is his problem. Remember he's the same guy who laughed at his team as they were getting their arse handed to them in a game. Says all you need to know there about his attitude.
Guess you don’t remember when emery was suspended and he showed up every day on scout team for a team that fired their head coach

It wasn’t average.

He hasn’t fulfilled it.

Emery like Boutte is somewhat of a distraction
Posted on 1/1/23 at 11:14 pm to Geauxldrush
It’s not even that he’s careless
If you go watch his fumble against Arkansas you can seen him try and secure the football before it’s ripped out.
Idk what to say at this point

You can't still have the most potential on the team after 5 years of not fulfilling that potential.

Going to laugh when Emery comes back next year & rushes for 1500

Saying 5 years is disingenuous.
That being said, hasn’t done it.
I mean, Joe Burrow was the man at Ohio St.
Right?
Before you ask if I expect Emory to be as successful as Joe Burrow, the answer is no. That being said, stuff happens (missing a year, having a new coach etc.). At the end of the day though, he hasn’t done enough in the eyes of the coaching staff (kind of like Burrow at OSU).
However, it doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have potential.
