Do you k know how much that extension was?

LSU blew it out of the water.

Was never announced so we have no way of knowing.

Surely you aren't one of those idiots that believes P5 coordinators were making more than the head coach at Notre Dame.

Heck, they pay Freeman nearly as much as we pay BK now.

They would never pay Kelly that.

Look man. Believe what you want, but usually the simplest explanation is the right explanation. Every source I read says he got a significant upgrade here. And that he contacted Florida during the season. He wanted out. That’s obvious. The reasoning is for you to decide. But if you think he’s hungry to win, I don’t know what to tell you. He’s apparently content beating a dead Florida team.

Sorry, age comes into play more than you think. It absolutely does.

Other than that… he was never a good fit here and never should have been hired.

I said it before the season started and was boo'd off the Rant because I have too few posts. Bunch of stat nerds out there saying that Kelly was elite and the OC issue was being worked. Sloan is the worst OC in major college football... I don't care who's at QB. Kelly was lazy managing his coordinators.

It will be his lasting legacy.

Ok, blast me again for having too few posts... I REALLY don't care!

In the previous era Kelly was a solid coach. This portal stuff is kicking his arse.

I don’t understand this comment. LSU had the #1 transfer portal class last go around.
His shortcomings have not been roster related but rather the DEVELOPMENT and utilization of said roster.
And more obviously the development of his coaches as well.

Look back at Saban. He was a REAL leader of men and was able to develop his players as well as his coaches.
Brian Kelly seems to do the opposite. Denbrock left and I’m telling you now, don’t be surprised when Blake Baker does the same.

Next it will be the recruits that realize playing for Brian Kelly is a good way to lose money. We have talented players at every position on the offense that this coaching staff has failed miserably and because of that, these young men will not be drafted where they should be. We could point the finger at Nuss, because he has played AWFUL but it ultimately is on the coaches. Because QB is not the only position playing AWFUL.

It’s a shame.

We don't know if they'd pay Kelly that because they never got the chance to even counter the offer.

I think he legitimately wants to win a natty to cement his legacy, whether he can do it or not is to be decided.

3 of his last 4 defensive coordinators are head coaches now.

Of course he wants one. Everyone wants one. But does he believe it will happen? No. That’s why he’s defending a shite performance against shitty teams that end in a win. He knows it ain’t happening. I personally believe he bailed to secure his future. You can believe what you want. But after watching him this season, you really believe he has the championship drive in him? Bro is counting money and looking at beach houses in Hawaii

It’s about time Louisiana found an industry that draws professionals here.

Kelly is chilling out here. He is totally comfortable with the LSU job. Wearing shoddy t-shirts to games. What’s next?

If he’s content beating a shite Florida team, then he’s not hungry for a championship. End of story. He’s up there looking like a fool calling the media spoiled. He sounded like Butch Jones.

He is 65 years old and doesn’t have the energy of these younger coaches. He is having trouble putting together 2 good units on the field for an entire season. He looks like he is playing wack-a-mole. He reacts after one area of the team doesn’t perform. Then the other side of the ball struggles once he rights the other. I don’t see him being able to handle the rigors of this new era of college football. He is struggling and it shows.

I took that as him defending his players.

You can't constantly bash them in that situation or the team will quit on you.

He looks like he thought he could come here and coast his way to a championship and is throwing a tantrum because it’s actually hard to win in the SEC. I mean, that doesn’t make any sense but he does not seem to be giving this job the full effort it deserves. He’s old and his best days are way behind him and may never have been good enough to win a championship.
