Would have loved to hear the audio for the 2-point conversion run call vs. Ole Miss.. If I was hearing that live, I would have chimed in and said "Y'all are both fired if you call that. Thank you for your attention to this matter."
while I hated the call, we had two whiffed blocks. Now, you gotta know we ain’t blocking anyone and our rush game is putrid. So it was a terrible call and terrible execution

Sloan is so lost that he can't even script plays that make sense or teach his team how to run them.

Or it is BKs script that he wants to run since that is the only thing he can control in the game.

Agreed, but his tight end was wide open, in the middle of the field, right in front of him.

I rewatched the game. Say what you will about the OL run blocking. Nuss had plemty time on most passing plays to get the ball where it needed to go. At one point we were up 7-3 like inside the 40 or 30 of Ole Miss. Nuss had a super clean pocket and threw the ball into coverage. A competent QB doesn't do that.

While watching the UCLA vs Penn St game, Nico ran every single time Penn St left green grass. He DGAF! He said he would do whatever to win. Nuss has legit straight line speed. You can see it on that 28 yard run vs SELU. His horizontal speed is trash, but he can run atraight ahead pretty good. However he never even tried. Again, i saw slow arse Drew Aller at Penn St ran for like 80 yards that game. He ran right up the middle when UCLA vacated the area. He also ran like he wanted to win the damn game.

Once, maybe twice, but I doubt this is happening so frequently that it's the primary reason for our offensive struggles.

Agreed, if he is changing calls at the line it's because he's been given authority to do so based on what he is seeing. Now, it's very possible that Sloan does not agree with those decisions. Either way the game planning is not up to par.

You think he changed the playcall on the 2 point play? ???????

You realize the 2pt play was the same play we used to score the TD on just out of a slightly different formation. The backside tackle whiffs on his block and Sharp does bad job on his easy kick out block. It would have been another walk in if not for that.

The rant thinks any play call that doesn't work sucks. Sometimes its a bad play call. Sometimes it's execution. The 2pt play was just bad execution.

Go back and watch the first or second series against USC. Nuss got rattled and was just doing whatever, Sloan nearly had to be retrained in the booth.

Yep you saw him say "RUN WHAT IM FCKING CALLING"

Bk Heard, "I don't know what do you want to do?" "I don't know what do you want to do?" "We could throw it?" "It's 3rd and 1?" "Right!" "Throw it deep Nuss!"

It seems like the other team can hear them too.

He hears it, but apparently doesn't understand it, and certainly doesn't change some of the bad stuff he is hearing.
He just says post game, 'we had plays for 3 rush 8 drop defense, we just didn't change any of them' or run enough of them". I didn't see any...did anyone else? He is just making up stuff to cover his a$$.

Except they took out Berry who scored said touchdown and had a gain on the run right before the touchdown.

Also even I new they were handing it off after he was brought in motion to the backfield.

Besides that I would agree with you in theory if they lined up and handed it to Berry again it wouldn't have been that crazy.

If he hears the calls, and doesn't change anything, then he is complicit in the ineptitude. I know if I were the HC and I heard the play calls and knew what was coming, and watched it unfold for 5 games, there would be some serious changes happening by now.

Based on his inability to make in game adjustments, I would say YES! He literally looks like the only one in the stadium who doesn’t know which shitty play is about to be run. The fans, people watching on TV and the DC from the other teams do but not BK!

I keep coming back to the fact that BK was literally a year or two away from retiring and handing the reigns over to Marcus Freeman at Notre Dame. Then our genius of an AD swooped in and offered him 100 million guaranteed to be our coach for the next 10 years. He’s been on record saying he’s in the part of his career where he mostly supervises his coaching staff and acts as a CEO. And then it’s been reported multiple times he’s observed by many to be aloof and disconnected from the day to day football operations in the building. Why is any of what’s going on surprising? If he’s that uninvolved, then he will live and die by his assistant coaches and right now there’s a couple doozies on the staff. And I think he’s fine going down with the ship because he’s got a massive nest egg waiting for him when he retires, thanks Scott!!

Or....hear me out....Nuss is REALLY screwing this up.

Ever thought he might be changing the calls at the line?

He doesn't even have to be changing the call. There's multiple targets on every play, you can call a great play and throw to the wrong guy

Can we all just stop over analyzing what is being said by Brian Kelly. Its common Coach speak. Hes not going to fire him in-season and not going to throw him under the bus when there is nothing good to come from that.

To be fair, the DL is 2 yds away and Nuss is about to release the ball.
There is somebody WIDE open at the 25 directly in front of him, and another guy open to the right, at the 27. Either would be a completion with positive yds, and no effect from the pass rush
