What was it like being a starter for a 1A school in 1982

BK will never be a Les Miles. That is the cold hard position we are in right now. Miles’s players would run through a brick wall for him, at least.
so true. This is what I’m talking about Kelly, and his inability to motivate. But it’s not just about the lack of emotion, it’s the lack of intensity and discipline and desire that his teams seem to lack.

They’re not even journalists. They’re sports reporters, the lowest form of media. Maybe a notch above tabloid writers, maybe.

Kelly really needs to learn the chest is either full or the chest is barren.

Crain & Company

They start off with the LSU game.

Lots of people need to hear the opinion of football guys that know ball, but are not LSU fans specifically.

For the people that believe that by not bitching about Kelly you are accepting mediocrity….no one team in the entire country is perfect. Let things play out.

Yeah if BK had a Joe Burrow or a Jaden Daniels right now with the team he has assembled the media would be witnessing greatness again. He was smart enough to take Daniels in the portal but didnt have the defense we have now THAT HE BROUGHT IN. HE BTW was smart enough to hire Baker. You people should stop believing Nuss is a Heisman level QB. He is really good but because of his obvious unfixable flaws is not a championship QB. He's all we have though. SLOAN AINT THE PROBLEM JUST AS ENSMINGER WAS NOT THE PROBLEM IN 2016, 2017, AND 2019.

Then what’s the problem? You’ve basically said no one is the problem.

Are you saying that there is no problem on offense?

Yeah his lack of motivational skill have us at 0-3. Oh I see now you are a Miles fan. Thought he was the goat here for years.

I've seen some 2011 comparisons because of the defense and even punting was good yesterday. But 2011, despite their issues passing, could impose their will in the trenches and run the ball at will against anyone not named Bama, and in the 2nd half of every game except that team from T-Town, the opponent was bruised, gassed and bullied and the offense seemed to be able to do whatever they wanted in the 2nd half resulting in a lot of blowout scores even as limited in the passing game as they were.

This team can't do that. In fact none of BK's teams since he got here could, the only consistent running game he's had was Jayden being superman. Durham can pop one off every once in a while because he's a great talent. But the OL, supposedly BK's forte, have not been able to line up and open up lanes for RBs with any consistency whatsoever in his entire tenure so far. If you can't do that, it makes every other aspect of the offense much more difficult to execute especially if you don't have a QB that's a threat to pop off big runs that the defense has to account for.

Sweet coming form posters who gave credit to Saban's players for everything Miles accomplished and has become a punch line for poor offense. Now Miles is the finest coach we have ever had.

Common sense is not that common

It’s not a pedestal, it’s common sense. Michael Cauble isn’t “involved in football”, he shoots film and does 10 minutes on the nightly news. Then he does the same thing for basketball, baseball, etc. The media can have opinions, even well educated opinions, but they aren’t coaches.

He’s spent more time around National Championship teams than BK has. Hes at least been allowed to glance under the hood, even if he didn’t know what’s he’s looking at, he knows those engines were much bigger than the one installed now. The only view Kelly has ever had of a natty championship team is the front grill right before it ran over him.

It was a fair question. The fact is that this team is built exactly how Kelly wants it, was lauded as a contender, yet in its current form is not a playoff team. That’s not negotiable. So at what point is it ok for wins to be less enjoyable when it’s glaringly obvious that the end goal will not be met without significant improvement and there are zero signs that any steps are being taken to achieve said improvement?

Kelly’s reaction tells me all I need to know. He thought he had a championship team. But he doesn’t, he realizes it, he can’t fix it and he’s upset that everyone else realizes it already too. He’s an “offensive guru” who’s tricked everyone for years and has sour grapes bc he’s finally being found out and called out.

Or at least run through the line with some authority. Miles' teams seemed to never struggle to get short yards

Fair point, maybe he should say something similar to that besides calling them spoiled

If you watch the whole PC he does. While talking about braelin moore and Nuss at one point says something along the lines of that he's with these guys (offense) everyday and they know they got taken lot to work on. The problem is the first question out the gate after a conference win in which the defense was a huge story was about the struggles on offense.

Anyone with eyes knows we have to be better on offense as the season progresses if we want to get where we want to be but it's a long season and I will be positive about our ability to do so until proven otherwise.

Agree.
Totally.
Bertman made us baseball savvy
Saban made us football savvy.

Yeah!
Miles has a Natty, but never had a 100 million dollar contract. Big difference.

How many coaches on this staff were hired by Orgeron, fired by Kelly, then were brought back when Kelly's boys failed.
