Offer him $3mil -$3.25 base plus incentives.

Right now, Coach O atm makes 4mill/year.

Raymond isn’t going to be the DC at LSU if Aranda leaves.

Seriously people. He’s never been a DC at any level that I’m awate of.

Why wouldn’t we just get Joe Burrow’s dad to be the DC?

LSU is set up to pay the highest salaries in the country for coordinators

How long will that be the case?

The issue with saying no to Raymond is he most assuredly leaves for another D coordinator job.

Certainly - the new DC might want to bring in his assistants, though. I'd let him interview for the job - pick him and let him work with O to backfill the defensive staff if picked. Otherwise, assume most/all defensive coaches gone with the transition.

He also will have two sons playing at Clemson next year and to young daughters that are happy in Clemson.

Hey he gets to run scout team QB at Clemson lol. Coach O let him do that?

Am I the only one not excited about Raymond as DC?

I wouldn’t be. Good recruiter but better options out there but O may be in a no win situation if Aranda leaves. He may have to give Raymond his shot.

Knowing the type of guy Aranda is, he wouldn't leave until after the playoffs. I would hope he'd be all in here though.

He will stay thru the playoffs

If Woodward is the great AD we think he is, now is the time for him to shine.

Maybe, maybe not.

He has the same experience as a DC (high school) as Pruitt had before he became a DC at FSU and finished with the #1 defense. He then went to UGA in 2014 boosting them from 79th in defense (2013), to 16th in 2014. Then he got it to 8th the next year. After that he went to Bama and had back to back #1 defenses.

Somebody brought up Wisconsin's DC who was a DB coach for only 1 year there before becoming the DC and having a top 10 and #3 defense in 2 of his 3 years. Pruitt was a DB coach for 3 years before he was swiped away by a school that was the top of their conference.

I say give Raymond a shot. Guy knows LSU in and out, and DBU is still relevant because of him.

He’s the only staff member with NFL playing experience, which helps in recruiting. We could do a lot worse.

Oh really? What kind of guy is he? How well do you know him? Or do you mean how you’ve got know him because they show him on TV half a dozen times a game? Point is you don’t know shite about how he is or the type of guy he is.
