He is going to be one of those guys that definitely benefits from being in a groove by playing every day.

Lot of missiles on the way

he was held back my man. Look at his age when he turns 21. My grand daughter is going to be a Jr in college and is younger than him. He was born in November 2004. I was headed into my senior year at his age to put things into perspective because the cut off back in the day was the end of December.

Not sure who is clueless.

Held back for baseball. Likely or just not mature as a youngster. He is older than Jake Brown.

I didn’t say he was hot but he very well could be. Maturity does bring power to a big frame like his especially coming from a dad who’s a hitting coach and knows how to train his kids.
BTW - YOU were the one that pointed it out with your comment about hitting an oppo with a wood bat. I agree

I think John has a great chance to be the DH or one of the DHs. I can’t figure out if he has a chance to be a position player. One has to think to convince Frey to come back it’s so he can show the pros he has a position to play. That would be first base, I guess, if all our starting outfielders return.

What position does that leave for Pearson? It’s good he is hitting because that might be his best chance to start, as DH. There will be a lot of competition for DH too.

Pearson looks like one of thise guys on your softball team who is kind of fat, drinks beer in the dugout, and hits homeruns on every at bat. Lol

National College Coach of the Year, Jay Johnson, has said on several podcasts that Big John is "more than capable of playing 3rd base.".

I would be very surprised if Frey comes back. He has leverage this year, will be drafted on his tools/upside, and can learn a position in the minors. Hope I'm wrong though.

Pearson should have a shot at 1B and obviously DH. The transfer from High Point, Simpson, will likely be leading candidate to play 3B.

Pearson is listed as 6'0, 248. Tanks was listed at 6'0, 240

Meanwhile they’re both 5’9. Baseball height inflation is real and annoying.
