2003 was an extremely good team.
Put together a team of players from those 4 seasons….
Burrow led team beats that team.
Hmmm . . .
In the secondary alone you would be facing:
Corey Webster
Mo
Tyrann
Laron
Eric Reid
In the interior DL, there would:
Dorsey, Lavalais, Kyle Williams, Brockers

06 isn’t a pimple on 19s arse

Take that great 2006 team on their best day vs the 2019 team on their worst and it’s still a 2-3 TD win for Burrow and co.

The 2006 team on their best day was that much worse than 2019 Auburn who only lost 23-20 to the 2019 team on their worst day?

2019 is the better team, but some of you are getting way too bent out of shape about the question being asked.
At the time, Corso said 2006 LSU was the best looking 2-loss team he had ever seen. His ESPN colleagues were outwardly mocking Notre Dame's chances of even being competitive in the Sugar Bowl.
That was also the year the media was in love with Ohio State, Michigan, and USC. The era of SEC dominance had not formally began yet. Being ranked #3 by the AP and coaches in the final rankings showed how good people thought the Tigers really were that season.

The better question is who wins out of 1992 and 1999.

2001 10-3 LSU was the most talented LSU and NOBODY wanted a piece of them at the end of the year. Fight me.
Were you drunk in a blackout when we played Florida that year? That was a miserable home game.
Florida was the middle of the year.

That '06 team had Tyson Jackson, Dorsey, Chase Pittman, Ricky Jean Francois on the line. Beckwith and Ali Highsmith at LB. Chevis Jackson, Laron Landry, Jesse Daniels, Craig Steltz, and Zenon in the secondary. That was a damn good, physical defense. Much better than the 2019 defense.
The talent on the offensive side was ridiculously good as well - Russell, Hester, Alley Broussard, Buster Davis, Brandon LaFell, Early Doucet, Dwayne Bowe...I'd argue that the 2006 offensive line was better than the 2019 offensive line as well.
If we're naming names, look at this from 2001.

I'll fix that up into positions after a bit.

Sure, 2006 lost on the road at Auburn and Florida
And those were the only teams that LSU faced that finished in the Top 14. The 2019 team beat 5 of the 7 teams not named LSU that finished that season ranked in the Top 8.

Damien is listed 2X (fifth and last on the list)

I know of no CFB team that could line up and beat the 2019 Tigers. None.

I agree. I assume you meant in the history of CFB? Which I would agree with as well.
2019 is GEAUXT

I agree with the rest of the defense from the '06 team being better, but this secondary gets absolutely abused by Burrow, Chase, Jefferson, Marshall, and Moss.

That 2006 team had tremendous talent and statistically dominated their opponents, moreso than 2005 or 2007, but inexplicably lost those two games and were quite fortunate to win three other games (Tenn, Ole Miss and Arkansas).
It seems turnovers and unforced errors in games kept that unit from achieving their true potential.

06 LSU vs 19 LSU is a shootout and eventually I expect Burrow to put it away. Interesting point about 19 Auburn vs 06 LSU who’s biggest weakness was the Oline. I do think 19 Auburn wins that game. Both the 06 losses were due to weak oline play with Florida and Auburn killing us upfront at the LOS. We didn’t see another D line like that again in the season with maybe Arkansas coming close
