They won’t be close to the best.

Arkansas didn't start so well last year if I remember. THe first weekend is hard to determine anything but I'd say the batting lineup, especially 1-4 is very potent. As mentioned, Dugas at 8 is a telling sign of stout batting. BUT! What happens when LSU loses to an SEC foe 3-2 or such? Everyone should've known Sunday's Maine pitching would struggle

Could this years team be the best offense LSU has had since they deadened the bats (2011)?

LSU fan asks this question during the third game of the season against a non-SEC opponent. Pump the brakes! Yes, they could be the best LSU offense this century, but let's see how some other games go!

I think in the dead bat period when you account for all the players we returned and then add Jobert,Jacob Berry,McManus, and Merrifield to that it definitely has the potential to be the best in this new period of college baseball for us for sure without question.Gotta stay healthy and see how it shakes out for the season

Calm your tits. Yes they look really good. But this Maine team was not SEC level competition. LA Tech will give us a better evaluation. Definitely excited about this year. Pitching looks better too. Hopefully Hilliard lasts longer next weekend.

Sorry I started a topic for conversation on a chat site. I think this team could be but obviously time would tell. 3 games in there is not a lot of questions you could ask but with a new HC it’s a decent question. Plus adding a talent such as Jacob Berry.

OMG y’all all are drooling over 3 games against Maine. Y’all seriously don’t know how sports or baseball works.

Again, I asked a question and did not make a statement that they are the best offense in the last decade. Yes we are 3 games in. Yes Maine is not a good baseball team. This was a question to start conversation. In which no one brought up a past team in the past decade……

The answer is yes. I like the guys approach at the plate this year. Much more selective at the plate . The transfers that are now in the lineup can all rake ( except Merrifield but i love what he’s doing for the team).

We obviously aren’t scoring 51 runs every weekend, but I think some of y’all are seriously underestimating how ridiculous this lineup is. I don’t care who you play scoring that many runs in a weekend is good.

Really has a chance to be an all time great. Enjoy it while it’s here.

The greatest offenses at every level of baseball has lost 3-2 games.

I’m not crowning us the greatest yet, Maine did themselves no favors in the field, but we do look good too to bottom.

Ok I went back to 2009 and looked at schedules prior to sec schedule starts
2009 lost 2/3 to Illinois
2010 lost 2/3 to Kansas
2012 lost 2/3 to app state
2018 lost 2/3 to notre dame
2019 swept at Texas
2020 lost 2/3 eastern Kentucky
2021 lost 2/3 oral Roberts.

It’s baseball. I’m excited to see runs being scored. Let’s see this offense vs sec pitching

You assumed that by me wanting to wait before crowning our bats the greatest of all time that I should go on record saying this team won’t be good. Based off of that alone you might be one of those fans that will change their tune with one sub-par weekend. Let it play out

You assume too much. LSU will lose some games and it only matters come Tournament time.

Who cares if idiots jump ship after a bad weekend?
