Sec. Scott Bessent has hereby BLOCKED $175 MILLION in fraudulent payments that would have gone out to DECEASED recipients this past Fiscal Year
The FRAUD WAS OFF THE CHARTS from the Biden years. Trump and Bessent just cut it off!
1.1 BILLION federal payments totaling $3.7T were screened
When Trump said he was going to destroy fraud, he meant it.
And there are still BILLIONS of dollars in fraud yet to be discovered. Already a quarter trillion discovered by the WH anti-fraud task force

Some clown federal judge will no doubt try to intervene.
As an example, my MIL died on the last day of the month and her SS payment hit her checking account the next day. But within a couple of days they clawed that back. It pisses me off that the government is paying out benefits to dead people.

So only .0047% of those payments were fraud?
That actually sounds like a system run quite well

You think this 175 million was all of the fraud?

In all of the govt spending? Of course not
But unless I’m missing something, the wording of the video said they analyzed 3.7T of payments and found 175 million in fraud

You are being obtuse. Do you think they are going to find a 675 billion dollar fraud account? A 1.8 trillion dollar mistake? Of course it's made up of figures like these...

What the frick has our government been doing? Frick them

I did the same math out of curiosity. A reasonable question would be is the administrative costs of finding the fraudulent payments more than the actual amount saved. I can’t see how 175M would exceed administrative costs, so no, total savings suggests not effectively run.

Just reviewed a credit application for a self employed individual. He stated he made $200,000 a year and also received another $2,000 a month in VA disability.
Thank you for your service, but if you are making that kind of jack, why on earth are you also getting $2,000 a month.
I see it all the time. Not necessarily with VA disability, but with regular disability and people holding down full time jobs.

If u haven’t serve a day of military service, not sure ur opinion matters, u have no idea what rules are for VA disability and maintaining a job, their is a reason it is allowed and rules for those situations. Why are veteran’s benefits always scrutinized by non-veterans who have never served?

Well, elaborate, please.
quote:Because there are tens of thousands of frauds. I know a guy who "served." He went nowhere overseas, saw no combat and he collects disability for a knee and ankle I know he didn't injure in the service.
Why are veteran’s benefits always scrutinized by non-veterans who have never served?
quote:I pay 6 figures in federal taxes so, yeah, it matters.

Everyone who pays taxes funds those benefits and deserves accountability of their money, veteran or not.

My mom and dad have passed in the last year and half. Once the funeral home had them the death certificate was ordered and the SS Check was stopped.
Follow the person that died to a funeral home and I bet somebody is getting kick back to not report the death so some family members can receive the checks.
