I really wish Hannagriff and Ott would stop trotting Skip out regularly on the show, especially on days where baseball isn't being discussed. Its painful to hear him struggle to find his words, or lose the discussion and talk about something entirely else. I assume they are doing it for ratings, but it feels like we're just live-streaming a great coach's decline

Does no one else think it's a tad much that Bertman is that much involved in the program? That can't make PM's daily stuff easy to do.

Theriot does but he is on for 2 hours and he is sponsored by Bowie Outfitters to go on the show.

Ok. Yeah..I wondered if guarentee broadcasting paid Bruce Marshall a fee every Friday to talk for 30 minutes or if Bruce was compensated by just allowing him to plug his twitter and Gold Sheet products.

I was shocked that Skip was in his early 60s when he retired. He looked every bit of 70 plus. Must be the cigs.

My takeaway from all of this :
1. There are about 30-40 schools that can win a NC in Omaha during any given season and that chance is more likely to prevail than actual skill of a particular program.
2. From this season to the next 10 seasons,
2019-2028 , we will likely have 8 different NC teams during the next 10 years at Omaha.
In other words, having Mainieri, Bertman, Ron Polk, Ray Tanner, Augie Garrido, or tim Corbin doesn’t really matter- it’s a fricking crapshoot as long as you have a top 25 type team.
Therefore, Mainieri isn’t to blame if we succeed or fail. Its all chance.

Typical PM defender . PM sucks and will never win another NC. A half way decent coach would win one at LSU every ten years but PM can’t. Wake up

Smoke went to Omaha 40% of the time he was HC. Over the course of 14 years he would have won one . We fired smoke for missing the tourney one time and losing a regional . PM has done both multiple times .

If Skip coached to the same age as Mike Martin his last season would have been 2013.
