Skip Bertman is here for Paul Mainieri’s season wrap up. Bertman reminded Mainieri that “we’re not curing cancer here,” so getting too down in the dumps after the season ends is about perspective.

In my opinion Skip looks concerned. Just my take though.

Is Bertman JBE's dad? They certainly look alike.

Skip publicly supports all the coaches and admins. I’m sure he has his own thoughts.

I believe Skip is concerned. The press conference is taking longer than expected and he was hoping to get to L’auberge that afternoon.

I wish Skip said that to PM.

So glad to see Skip back in good health. GOAT Tiger.

ETA: I know he's been fine for a while now, it was just tough seeing him looking like he was on his death bed a few years back.

I wish Skip would just tell Paul to quit whining and acting helpless regarding the construction of his roster and coaching staff.

Skip has that “ this just shows how much of a genius I was” look on his face.

I think it is a very wise statement.

1.) It is just a game. In the scheme of things it means nothing.

2.) I think Skip is also saying that the game is not that hard and to quit overthinking it. Find kids that can hit, run, and throw and let em get after it. I think PM is going down the same road that Les did. They feel the pressure and start pressing, the kids feel it and tighten up as well.

I agree with you here. Also as it’s been said before, the team needs a vocal leader to be the backbone. You could see Josh Smith, Dup and Zach being those guys but they appeared to be more of a quiet personality. Sometimes an energetic guy taking the reigns is needed.

He's not coaching the 9u Blasters. It's a multimillion dollar business.

Skip nailed it in an interview after the loss to Florida State. This isn't the same college baseball where he won 5 titles. He said everyone is putting lots of money up. They used to go play at Kentucky and it was like playing in a Rec League park and now Kentucky is pumping tens of millions into the program.
