He does not. His PhD is from Barry University. His degree from LSU is his BA.

Alumni are graduates of the University. There is no middle ground there. Not a graduate, not an alumnus of LSU.

Most of us are judging Ben on his actions

Good, now which actions are these? The ones where he rebounded the ball, dribbled down the court, and either scored or assisted a teammate? He did do that a lot (enough to lead the team and be among the top in the conference in each), so it seems fair to judge him based on that.

I'll judge him on being posted up 8 feet from basket against a 6'3" guard and deciding to kick it back out

Whatever floats your boat, man. I find that example to be pretty unrepresentative of his court impact (and also probably fabricated), but go ahead

Honestly, I like Ben Simmons. If Ben ends up being great in the NBA and doesn't rep LSU, just know it's the "fans" like in this thread who trashed the kid who are responsible for it.

Yes, graduates of a university are correctly referred to as alumni of such university, just as non-graduates from the same university who attended such university are also referred to as alumni.

Here's another one. I hope you're not an LSU alum.

The actions when he didn't go to class and didn't even finish the semester at LSU

He led LSU in:

minutes played
points per game
defensive rebounds per game
offensive rebounds per game
blocks per game
assists per game
fg%
steals per game

He also had the highest assist per game total for any LSU player since 1994 (22 years); The highest rebounds per game total since 1992 (24 years) and averaged more points last season than anyone except Marcus Thornton since 1996. Only Simmons did it all in the SAME season.

Clearly he was the problem. Hell, if he was able to do all of that while "not giving a shite", then he has the potential to be best basketball player to have ever played the game.

Based upon the rant logic, if Simmons takes so much heat why shouldn't Fournette? Both were considered once-in-a-generation talents coming into LSU. Yet, like Simmons, Fournette was largely absent in "big games" and has only been able to "lead" his teams to mediocre results. Right?

Why would he finish the semester? Doesn't that seem trivial (not a graduating semester) compared to prepping for the draft? Also, if TD is any indication, plenty of the fan base hated him after the season ended. Probably wouldn't have been too fun of a place to hang around.

Not going to class and leaving in poor academic standing is a negative; I'm not saying the kid is infallible. But he's a kid. I don't have disdain for my friends who flunked and never went to class, and they had far fewer distractions and far more reasons to go

:rotflmao: Are you insinuating Lebron and Ben are selfish players?

Are you actually implying Lebron plays a style that doesnt help his team win?

You just need to go back in the kitchen and make a sandwich. You clearly dont know sports

Did you watch?

I saw an unbelievably talented kid that was never given a defined role and put up crazy numbers on a clusterfrick of a team with an absolutely clueless head coach.

That is why it is sad. It shows grown men will hate an 18 year old based on team results, even when said 18 year old had a historic season. It is nuts and shows a huge flaw in human beings

Yep. If the rant was around for the Pistol, he would have been hated and ran out of town. Barely had a .500 record. Dude would have been a douche bag ball hog who didnt give a shite about winning.
