General consensus seems to be now that LSU...the athletic dept....tried to use the media/outside sources to set up CLM by leaking what the plans were. Politics blew up those plans from most serious accounts.

Somebody, either Alleva or an arrogant booster, leaked that information to Rabalais to try to build public support for his wishes. It seemed to be going well for a week or so, but the leak itself is what ultimately nixed the possibility. Somebody close to the program thought they had more sway than they actually do.
Rabalais should man up and name his source.

I don't know what DA's deal is, but alters do that (or change their style in some way) to disguise themselves. Aside from DA, there is at least one alter troll in this thread who has done that.

That's the part of this I find most unbelievable. Anyone with a lick of common sense pretty much knew LSU was gonna be into a release of Miles and hire of Jimbo to the tune of bout 11 mil. a yr. for 4 yrs....from the get go. Why would a Gov. elect veto a deal that uses NO state funds?? I mean, he might say "you guys are nuts", but why would he care how LSU uses private funds? Hopefully, he has more important issues in this state to deal with than LSU fans wasting their money on whatever.
It appears something went on, but I cant buy into Jimbo seriously wanting to leave his Fla. St gig. I mean, has a power coach from a power school ever directly changed school from one yr. to the next??

I have a friend on staff at bama that said everyone was talking about our situation. He knew people on fsu staff and they all were putting feelers out for jobs informally he said. Something happened before or during the game, what we may never know.....
