Another big game for the Tigers!
LSU is the highest ranked SEC team in NET ranking this morning at 23!
I'm hopeful that Wade's more forceful instruction to the team this week will show positive results. This team can play very good ball for extended periods. If we can develop a 40 minute mentality and a true killer instinct, we can repeat as SEC regular season champs!

This game scares the shite out of me. At some point, the injuries/short bench/good fortune with narrow wins is all going to catch up with us. I hope tonight isn't that night.
And how did those frickers from Auburn end up winning last night? The last I saw they were down like 15 in the 2nd half.

Listening to WW last press conference he was questioned about the trend of LSU giving up large leads midway through the second half of several games. It was hard to decipher because like normal coaches WW doesn't want to give too much away so he speaks in coach speak but the following is what I pieced together for LSU to correct the bad trend of giving up leads:
1. Focus. Don't lose it. Remember the defense you were told to play based on scouting. All first half while gaining the lead you followed the scouting plan. Specifically in the UT game when they made their run, CWW said that our defenders stopped guarding the dominate hand. That is a loss of focus.
2. Effort. The intensity level is not consistent according to CWW. We have very high levels of intensity and then it falls off. CWW used examples of other SEC players that play a full 38 minutes of high intensity basketball and if they can do it there is no reason that we can't...our guys are in great shape too. Maybe our guys need to pace themselves a little better?
3. Offensive execution in terms of passing. CWW mentioned that for some reason when we lose these leads passing on the offensive end becomes less than desirable which leads to ineffective offensive execution. He said that he has ideas on how to fix it but did not elaborate.

Really wish Ole Miss would have pulled that one out last night since we have to play them twice this year.
There were some results last night that obviously helped LSU. Namely, Miss. St, A&M and Rhode Island winning. LSU's NET SOS improved (at least one site's calculation) to #6. Maybe one of Wade's most underrated qualities is his ability to put together a Non-Conf. schedule that while it doesn't look "sexy" is FULL of quality opponents relative to the metrics rankings.
If they get a win tonight a 9-0 SEC start seems very likely. This is probably the biggest home game for the next 3 weeks. So if you want to watch a game live, this would be the one to attend.

9,000 would be a decent crowd. The UF game attendance was just under 10,500. Now, that is probably paid vs. actual, but I think the actual was probably close to 9K. There's no reason to think they couldn't get that many in there tonight, if not more. I know it is basketball and not football, but playing Alabama in anything seems to resonate more with the casual fan than games against other schools.

No lead is safe in college basketball.

So what you’re saying is that when we play Bama, we’re going to attack their strength?
Just kidding. Thanks for the preview.

Damn I really want to win this game, Alabama basketball is traditionally a thorn in LSU's side though
