I am more than ok with S,S,M. Follow me, if getting Skenes a non-weather interrupted start is #1 on Jay's list of priorities then he can weather-watch, prepare both Floyd and Skenes for Saturday and make a game day decision between the two if thunderstorms threaten to point where a stop-start-game is possible. Not sure that Jay could do such a thing to Floyd if we were F,S,S

That would be dumb. Why would they set a time for games that may not even be played? There could be anywhere from 4 to 8 games on Sunday. They will set the times and TV schedule once they know how many games will be played. Which is the smart thing to do.

I hate the time, but it gives Floyd and Hurd an extra day of rest which is good.

Against Tennessee, you probably need to throw Skenes.
Against Southern Miss, maybe the possibility of Floyd/Hurd is there.

I’m not opposed to this. The CWS before the championship series is formatted as a regional and Skenes is hopefully only pitching twice in Omaha.

Yeah, but his rest is the same as it's been all season so no advantage. On the other hand, Kentucky is traveling and gets an extra day to compensate. LSU probably would have been better off starting Friday.

I’m really not all that surprised. Before Regional selections, USM was only 1 spot behind UTk in the RPI; USM finished second in the Sun Belt and won the conference tourney where Tennessee finished “7th” in the SEC and went 0-1 in Hoover; and USM draws bigger crowds at home than UT.
