Please educate me. If Mickey is only one to return of the m&m tandem who rounds out starting 5. Also we can include victor into this mix with assumption that he gets hardship from beginning of year. I'm unaware of positions of newbies coming in. Thanks!

I mean you're talking about a situation where 2 starting positions are completely unknown. LSU has a really good shot at signing Malik Newman, and Mickey might come back. Assuming neither comes to fruition:

Patterson/gray
Hornsby/Quarterman/Blakeney/Patterson
Simmons/Quarterman
Victor/Epps/Simmons
Calling it now: Robinson. Saw a Vine of the team walking out for the NCAA's, and he has transformed his body. I think he'll be very good fod LSU. Then you can put Victor at the 5

If I had to guess it would be Mickey, Simmons, Blakeney, Hornsby, Patterson, with quarterman, victor, and grey coming off the bench

Well done. Coming to say the same thing, especially with Mickey at C. That's his game. He just doesn't have a Center's body for the NBA.

Are you seriously bringing Quarterman off the bench?

That truly will be a lineup deserving of expectations, though I think Q will be the "starter" over blakeney but all three of newman blakeney and Q will play equal minutes. 3/5 of our "top 10" NCAA tourney lineup talent will be our second unit (this will be like UK though in everyone sharing minutes fairly equally.)

If we don't land Newman then Quarterman is our starting PG next year. If we keep Mickey it would be:

PG: Quarterman
SG: Blakeney
SF: Simmons
PF: Victor
C: Mickey

Hornsby would be first off the bench in any scenario. We still have Gray and Patterson for excellent guard depth and a more liberal rotation. I'm really hoping Robinson and Epps step up like I know they can if they put in the work and build their endurance.

If Victor isn't as dominant as we hope, we'd substitute Hornsby and slide Simmons up to PF. Victor would still get at least 15 minutes per game in any scenario.

Yep...

Some of our returning starters from this season will most likely come off the bench next season due to the additions of Simmons and Blakeney. If we get Newman as well, then that just adds another returning starter to the bench.

For a team that had no depth this year, we will have a LOT of depth next season. Patterson, Gray, TQ, Hornsby, Blakeley are all PGs or SGs. If we get Newman, that's another one. Then we have Simmons, Victor, possibly Mickey, and hopefully Robinson will be adjusted to his new body and ready to contribute. That's not just depth but quality depth as well, which is huge.

you honestly think we are starting 3 freshman who have never played D1 basketball before now and a transfer?

Get real people even Kentucky Can't win with all true freshman.

My line up:
PG Quarterman
SG Keith Hornsby
SF Ben Simmons
PF (if he stays) Jordan Mickey
C Robertson (if he developes)

or if Mickey leaves:
PG Patterson
SG Keith Hornsby
SF Quarterman
PF Simmons
C Robertson

I talked to Doop in Pittsburgh this week and asked him about Victor. He said he's a beast & extremely mature--will be starting next year.

Simmons is a lock to start. If we get Malik Newman, he will be a lock to start as well. Simmons has been the consensus #1 player in the nation and Newman is top 5. And both are projected as lottery picks in 2016 draft. If we get Newman, that's 2 freshman that are locks to start. And Blakeney is 1 of the best pure scorers in the nation and will probably be the best scoring guard on the team. He's a lock to start if we miss out on Newman.

So we will have 2 freshamn starting regardless of what happens with Newman. I think TQ is the only guard who will keep his starting spot, due to his size / length and D. But Johnny Jones loved him off the bench earlier this year, so who knows what happens with that. Patterson will come off the bench. Hornsby is the tricky 1. Great leader and had a fantastic season for us, but isn't on the level of Blakeney / Newman.

Regardless, we will have a lot of quality depth next season
