They're just trying to win one for the Zipper.

Ron Zipper.
I was hoping someone was going to make this joke.

Win one for the Zipper is going to be the team mantra all season.

Solid win.

I get that this is projected to be a bad UCF team and it’s only an exhibition, but winning on the road against any P4 team is not easy. Especially in game one with a ton of transfers

Figured. Reed is listed as 6-10. Gilhool 6-11, but he looks more than an inch taller than Reed.

Not sure what you watched. We definitely looked more physical during this exhibition and seem to have a really solid PG in Thomas, along with multiple dudes with nice range.

Yep. I didn't hate what I saw. A lot of casuals will be dogging the team until we are well into the SEC schedule. Then it will depend on the W-L record. Hopefully, the games will at least be fun to watch this season.

Thomas is obviously a player but I was pretty impressed with Nwoko

Give credit where credit is due. They really picked it up in the 2nd half. Thomas was very good. A 9:2 A:TO ratio will win any day. Sutton will be a good player. On that note, I think you slowly see Reed lose minutes. I know it was his first game back, but 3 TOs to go with only 4 rebounds isn’t going to cut it. LSU’s going to have options in the frontcourt. The 15 TOs overall though is horrible. That’s been McMahon’s biggest problem, among many. Disappointing to see that same ugly number come up again

They said miller has an ankle injury. They didn’t make it sound like he would miss tons of time but the bigger question that went unaddressed was where was the Zipper?

Thomas is LSU's best player, and CMM has struggled to put a legit PG on the court since showing up at LSU. So, maybe CMM can get more of what he wants out of the offense this season. The issue is that Thomas brings very little to the court in terms of defense. That will be a major issue come conference play unless LSU can put an offense on the floor like last year's Missouri team, which was one of the worst defensive teams in the conference but overcame that with offense.

We have hope and can be a fun team. Weird substitution patterns, but I like a win against a P4 team on the road against a team that already scrimmaged
