Oh yeah like it’s a normal stat line where “8” means fly out to center. Now that you’ve explained it I get but eat shite for expecting some one to just look at that and know wtf is happening

Technically he could have grounded to CF, and the CFer ran and beat him to first for an unassisted out.

I've been posting scrimmage stats in this format for more than 10 years on this site and this is the first time I've had someone say it is not understandable. These numbers/letters and their meanings were taught to me over 60 years ago and I've been using them every since. I assumed that any baseball fan would not have trouble with their meanings.

LSUBaseballData had him hitting one 99 mph and I don’t trust it. That last flyout was off the end of the bat on a weak swing.

99 mph off of the end of the bat is indicative of 80 power.

I didn’t understand it at first, but I figured it out in about three minutes.

If ell is truthful in that it was a lazy fly ball Jones may have the most raw power of all time

A ground out to center field would be scored "8u" for center fielder, unassisted.

You could see Brown at 1st and Frey in RF if he can’t get it going.

They're taking a good look at Larson at 1B, too. Both Larson and Brown are LHH, so Bear will still get looks if for no other reason than to balance the lineup against LHP.

Yes. Larson going to get plenty of playing time. Jay has options, may take a while to find the right mix.

I think it's worth noting, too, that neither Brown nor Larson have really lit it up. I know it's easy to point the finger at how bad Jones has been, but it's not Brown or Larson that are making the push. It's Frey. My hunch is that we see a bit of all of them.

Scuba is out there going way above for those of us who can't be out there every day watching the scrimmages.

He's been doing it this way for as long as I can remember and you're the first to complain. So maybe it's not as confusing as you may think.

Thanks for all your info Scuba. It is greatly appreciated, by most.

Wasn't Brown one of the more consistent bats in the fall?
