To be 80, you have to be in the top 1% of exit speeds consistently. Would anyone like to guess where Jones is?
Dawg, I'm on your side.
Adam has been more audience-pleaser than tools-evaluator for a long time now.
We need to pull up his past ratings.

Not me, I could be totally wrong, but I'm fairly certain he's been airing on the positive side with these ratings.

Costello had a couple of nice digs at first base yesterday. He is a good prospect at first base.

I was scolded for not having the catching group grade higher yesterday. Such a thankless job.

Never ideal to have a persecution complex on a message board.

Looking forward to seeing Dickinson play with all the hype he's gotten. We've needed a natural base stealer for a few years now, hopefully he can contribute there too. If he does turn out to be good at that here it could end up setting up nicely to have him on base in front of Jones to get in the head of opposing pitchers and hopefully have them make more mistakes.

Jay has been experimenting with moving Milam to 2B when facing left handed hitters.

If anything Monster's defense as he has been seeing more action has slightly dipped as he had a few bobbled balls and double clutches resulting in late throws.

Pretty interesting lineup with Milam protecting Jones in the batting order and Dickinson down in the middle.

Interesting, but then do you have Dickenson go to short? Or then do you shuffle both braswell and Dickenson? They did similar things with shifts over the last few years, though it never made me particularly comfortable (for whatever the hell that's worth)

The amount of talent on this roster is insane. The DH role will be an interesting revolving door.

When we signed Priester he was the number 1 rated JUCO catcher, Arrambide was a big draft risk and we didn't know what we had with Hernandez. Priester crushed the ball in JUCO and the fall. His defense is getting a bad rep because the Rant is like high school where we find someone to pick on and it gets blown out of proportion. He certainly has a few brain farts back there but he has a strong arm and can move a little. I would rate his defense higher than Travinski. I don't see him as a defensive liability as our third catcher. He will do just fine in a limited role. We might get the occasional passed ball but let’s not categorize him as terrible.
We both saw him in the scrimmages. Perhaps some of the “trouble” has been him catching our Friday night starter maybe?? I’m just thinking out loud there. I know we’ve had a few pitchers in the last few years that gave Milazzo fits. A 3,200rpm curve ball is hard for anyone to catch up with sometimes. Just my thoughts from what I saw. I’m certainly no expert.

And the shifts they’ve been doing in practice the last few scrimmages have been insane. Any word or whether the NCAA has considered banning them like MLB? Just curious there, I have no idea whether it’s even been brought up.

Dickinson is a really intriguing player to me. I have no idea what to expect.
He was really hyped up when it was announced that he was transferring here and I just assumed he would immediately step in at SS. But now it sounds like he's settling in at 2B and SS will be between Braswell and Milam.
Then you have comments like this, yet you figure Milam and Braswell are probably 2nd basemen at the next level so what gives
Again, strange. It's not like we're trying to hide an injured arm like we did with Dugas.
Jay's never tried to do this since he's been here so again, not sure what to expect from Dickinson on the basepaths.
All that to say I'm looking forward to seeing him play with my own eyes

he stole 32 bases a season ago and will be asked to move around on the bases a ton this year

We only have one true power threat this year. We have a bunch of guys that will rack up doubles though. We're going to run more than we have under Jay. I'd be floored if he got to 30 SBs, but I don't think 20 is out of the question.
